I have 3 of them, and for what they are they're fine. Low cost alternative to Glock that uses Glock mags and easily modified using Glock style internals. Will they take the place of my Glock 19? Doubtful. But they're a good gun to try new ideas on and see what works. I haven't went to a RDS on my Glock yet, but I'm learning with the Daggers.

I picked up all mine during big sales, so I don't have a lot tied up in any one of them. Plus it helps that I go right by a Palmetto State store on my way to doctor appointments so I can handle them before I buy.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

I have shot 2. One 19 sized and one 17 sized. I took the respective Gen 4 glocks to compare. I thought I'd shoot the glocks better. I did not.

I bought a RMR cut slide as a cheap way to try out optics on my Gen4 19. haven't been to the range yet, but it seems well built for what I paid for it. I'll keep an eye on holiday sales for a cheap dot and then see if it's a viable option for me before I have any OEM slides cut.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

I got one on sale. I think $250 can’t remember. Haven’t shot it yet but it seems well put together. Internal look fine. Trigger is good.

Me too, waiting on mine. Also picked up a non threaded Dirty Bird barrel for $29.00, like Stickman said lots of parts and mods.

So if you buy a pistol to shoot 10,000 rounds through it, the ammo costs about $3000.

With a $350 gun that's a total of $3350, or 33.5 cents per round.

With a $500 gun that's a total of $3500, or 35 cents per round.

With a $1000 gun that's a total of $3350, or 40 cents per round.

But if you buy a $1000 gun and cut the cost of ammo by $3.00 per box, that's $3400 or 34 cents per round in aggregate.

Point is, buy whatever pistol you want and put you effort into finding better deals on ammo if you want to save money.

The price point is part of the appeal but one of the biggest draws to the Dagger is the different configurations you can get it in. Add to that the amazing ergonomics.

PSA just had an extreme cut upper with threaded barrel RMR optics cut for $169.00, sold out within the hour. If I had not found a really nice SW 4513 TSW today I would have jumped on that.

I especially love the reports of people absolutely shooting the rifling out of the barrels in under 5000 rounds, creating keyholing.

Cheap guns made cheaply with cheap parts . Not even remotely close to the durability of a Glock.

That being said, PSA will replace the barrel and firing pin and other small parts WHEN then break.

Real Glocks aren't that much more money, especially on the used market. I'd pay the extra to get the real thing.

I know what you are saying but $250 instead of $550-$600 is significant to a lot of folks.

If one is blue label eligible, no doubt go with the Glock.

I wonder what the holster selection for the PSA pistol is like. I’m going on a limb and saying all holster makers make holsters for Glocks.

Yep. Also is a factor if you are trying to buy multiple guns to leave around the house.

Now that would be a good use for the Dagger.

Gun market fluctuates and varies to one's area. Right now in my locality, it's not difficult to find a lightly used base model G19.3 for ~$400. A G19.5 runs ~$450. If you qualify for Blue Label pricing, it's $400 for a NIB G19.5.

On one hand, I can get a G19 w/ three mags for $450, and I'm done.

On the other hand, I can order a PSA Dagger for $250. If I get lucky, they might have a free shipping offer, but I can't avoid sales tax and FFL transfer fee. It only comes w/ one mag, so let's budget $25 for two more Magpul GL9 mags.

Side note: I have several Magpul Glock mags, and while I'm satisfied w/ them and trust them, I would take OEM Glock mags whenever given the choice.

After tax, fees, & cost of two additional mags, I'm looking at around $325-350 for a NIB Dagger vs $400-450 for G19 w/ fewer than 500 rounds down the pipe. $100 or so price differential is not enough motivation for me to buy a budget clone. Now if your options are $325 vs $600, then that's more understandable.

Iron Chef, but what if you want the super deluxe rainbow titanium finish and lots of holes cut into the slide and a nifty mount for your red dot thingy?

If you like to tinker around with things and appreciate the ridiculous amount of variants PSA makes of the Dagger there is a certain appeal.

I plan on eventually getting one to shoot the snot out of and compare to my beloved Gen3 G19.

If you want mod your Glock clone &/or put together a Gucci Glock, then places such as PSA and Combat Armory are great for doing that while keeping it very affordable.

It costs ~$125 to get a Glock slide custom milled for RDS. The ability to buy a complete Gen3 compatible OR slide from PSA for under $200 is indeed a bargain.

While I do believe that a diligent buyer can find and capitalize on police trade-in Glocks at good prices, it requires time and a certain degree of knowledge on buying used firearms, neither of which a buyer may possess.

In that light, these PSA pistols make a lot of sense. They are readily available at all times and represent quite a value.

As bubbatime pointed out, the Dagger is in no way comparable to the Glock in terms of durability. However, a man who needs a pistol to defend his person and his home and who has a limited budget would still do well with the Dagger. Such a buyer would likely never approach the 5000 round barrel life, or the limits of durability of the striker.

All citizens possess the right to self-defense, including the ones with limited budgets.

And, as Edmond pointed out, these would make for good pistols to scatter about one's residence for rapid access in emergencies.
