Rick Lee1911 grip screws and bushings question.
I went to change the G10 grips out on my latest S&W PC1911 yesterday and all four bushings came out on the screws. The bushing threads look very clean, so I put some Loctite (only had blue) on and put it all back together to sit overnight and try again today. In case I try the red Loctite today and it doesn't work, can I just buy any set of 1911 grip screws and bushings, or are there various sizes - pitch, length, diameter, etc? This is a lighweight Commander-size bobtail 1911.

lymanunless one of the overseas makers uses metric, they (the bushings or actually grip screw escutcheons) should be all the same,
they should also be staked,

Rick LeeI guess I asked too soon. The blue Loctite overnight trick worked like a charm. I had no problem getting three of them to break free very cleanly. One was stripped on the inside of the screw head. But it was easy to drill out, and I happened to have a spare set of new screws. All good now.
Got this for $400 (used) last week in a blowout sale.

gtncSounds like you are in good shape. When I replace bushings, my go-tos are from Challis Grips. Hex head bushings with o-rings that keep them in place. Amazon carries them or you can order from the Challis website.

All the ones I have seen have the same threading, but there are some that are shorter for use with thin grips. (I put thin VZ grips on my CBOB for a while before switching back.)

GregAnother vote for Challis screws and bushings. Eventually, I bought an assortment and some of their tools.

I’ll “third” that Challis vote. I picked-up their assorted tools, as well.
