I have a G43X with milled slide + 507k. I also have a milled P365 on XL frame + 507k. The red dots were necessary due to eye sight. I find that I shoot both equally accurately at slow speeds. It’s when the pace picks up that the G43X distances itself a little from the P365(X). Probably the ergos of the Glock fit me better. When factoring the trouble-free S15 mags I’m running in the G43X, I’m now carrying the Glock as my CCW. However I keep practicing with both and if the P365X some day starts beating out the G43X, I may reconsider. In either case, I enjoy shooting both of them.

I have several P365’s, along with the G43, G43X, and G48 (and a few G26, 27, and 33’s, of course).

I carry the P365 in a pocket holster when ever not traveling (can’t take firearms when traveling).

I’m very partial to the G43 for pocket carry, though I’ve mostly carried the P365 since deciding it was trustworthy. The G43 was a constant companion for some time, has proven accurate, reliable, and comfortable to carry, and I trust it implicitly.

I have the G43X and G48 set up with Shield metal mag catches and their proprietary 15-round magazines, but I do t really carry them. No complaints, really, but so far as the G48, I’d rather grab a G19 with a factory mag, or my preference, a G32. The G48 isn’t a pocket pistol, so it does in the waistband, and if I’m going there, I usually want something more substantial. I can fit the G43X in some pockets, but the P365 or G43 carries much better. My spare magazine for the P365 is 15 rounds.

Yeah, it's all good fun until the firing pin shears off on the first round in a gunfight. Those four extra rounds won't be much good at that point. Big Grin

Just remember, for many of the folks who have had issues with their P365s, those issues didn't show up until well past 500rnds.

I have Five P365's. 2 standard, 3 XL's. I have well over 10K rds through all of them combined and none of my strikers have broken.

My 1st gun (with 3 digit s/n) has over 4K rds fired. Sig has said on the record around .2% of P365's produced have been returned for issues and they've made over a million of them.

LOL!! Big Grin Yeah, they've got a SIG Cross to sell ya too.

I believe I would trust SIG Sauer's word about as far as I could throw their CEO Ron Cohen. (Hint, that's not very far) Eek

Like every Sig P365 thread it starts with I love my P365 but I am spending way more than I should turning it into an XL. I think the moral of most of these threads for the people who don't have a P365 yet is just buy the XL and be done with it. That .4 extra in barrel won't hurt the conceal.

$499 for a P365 & $45 for an XL grip module. Can swap grip module back and forth in 60 seconds. Seems like a fantastic low cost investment to a great carry platform to me!

Although, if you start with a P365XL, you could alternatively buy the standard grip module for $28. Win-win either way in my book.

If you want to talk to me about spending way more than I should, perhaps I should start a thread on my MPX. Big Grin

Thanks again for this post.

Cntrl23, 1S1K, and others --
For those of you with experience with both the original 365 with 12 round magazines, and the XL grip -- The length of each of those is about the same. Does the original with the 12 rounders give you most all of the benefits of the XL module? If not, what are the other characteristics of the XL module that you find so helpful? I like having all of my magazines fit into my gun, and so have avoided doing an XL grip. But like I said earlier, the 365 grip just feels too vertical, or too short front to back, vs my G43. (But I am eager to be talked into the wisdom of the 365.)
Thanks,
Scott

I got the Tacpac with three 12 round mags, never liked the 365 with 10 round mags.
With the 12 round mags it fit my hand better and I shot it better for longer periods.
But I didn't like the mag/grip moving around and after pinching the crap out of my hand a couple times on a reload I swapped in an XL grip and base plates.
I like it this way better.

I picked up an XL slide assy and a Romeo Zero, messed with that for a bit then sold it.
I just prefer the 365 slide over the XL.
For one I can swap the sights out for anything I want, I don't like the Xray3 sights and have swapped them out on guns that have them.
Personally I don't see the need for a red dot on this gun so having it optic ready isn't a concern.

Powermad,
Thanks for responding.
What on the XL module keeps it from moving around in your hand?

I like my G43 but its lack of cap is its Achilles heel for me. I've not grown to like any of the extended cap base plates that I've tried. Conversely my P365s have been quite impressive; with my small hands I tend to prefer the 10rd flush mags for their diminutive size for those few times that I've carried the gun, but it's nice to know that larger cap mags can be kept around as well. Both guns have been dead-on reliable over a couple of thousand rounds each. The recoil is about the same. The SIG is a more complex design but that's likely the price that had to be paid to offer the modularity that it does.

So in the end: better trigger, better factory sights, modular, far better capacity...the P365 for me is the hands-down winner in this two-gun dogfight.

365 is superior IMO. I like the trigger much better and the way it feels in my hand. It leads to more confidence for my EDC. I am just better with the 365 than the 43 with plenty of shots downrange for both. Of course YMMV.

43x with 15 rd shield mags is a tough gun to beat. I had a 365.
