If you want 10mm to shoot, go Glock 20 gen 5, Glock 40, or Sig P220. Its fun trouble free shooting with those pistols. If its for carry, G29 all day long.
Just my opinion from having owned and shot way too many tens.

Hard to find one better than a Glock G20 in that price range. I've had mine, an early gen 3 for more than 20 years,no issues that I can remember.
Maybe 4-5000 rounds thru it. Recoil spring assy changed once. Highly recommended !

Yup, I watched the full video a couple of weeks ago. FN and their polymers; first they have pistols that get all gooey with sun exposure, now they have a pistol whose polymer apparently goes in the opposite direction with extreme brittleness.

+1 on the G20. I have an old G20C (compensated). I have both the compensated barrel and a regular G20 barrel. Thinking of sending it to the Glock Store to do an RMR Slide Cut so I can mount a 507K on it. I’ve had it for a long time with zero issues. Bought it originally to replace my 357 Mag revolvers as a hunting sidearm.

You might be able to build a Glock 20 with the Large Timberwolf frame from Lone Wolf for a better ergo grip for under $500. Here's the full completed frame for $150:

After that, you can probably find a Glock 20 slide to go onto the frame.

I recently picked up a SPRINGFIELD XDM ELITE 10MM 4.5 in barrel. It is accurate, has a very good trigger, recoil/muzzle flip is very manageable, and pretty dang affordable at around $550. It does have a grip safety which some folks don't like, not sure why. Overall, a nice handgun.
