Understand there’s a fairly small number of us here either using these kits, or in my case going to use one of these kits. That said, my P229 non-rail frame is inbound to the FFL. Thinking about using a nickel-plated parts kit since the frame itself will be anodized blue. I am sure (I hope!) there are at least a couple of people out there who have used their lower parts kit – any comments on quality and finish, particulately the quality of the nickel-plating. I have a spare, SIG Factory nickel takedown lever for a P220 (fresh out of … India!) – I hope and assume it will work on my P229?

Yes, it's the same for the classic P-series guns. Q

Prepared for the Worst, Providing the Best |
I've had a little experience with the Revenant parts, but not the nickel ones specifically. For my P226 build, I had the following issues: 1. Slot in the takedown lever was too narrow for the takedown lever spring that was provided in their kit, so it wouldn't snap into the proper orientation. Using a Sig factory spring solved this problem, so I think the issue was with the spring, not the lever. 2. Slide catch lever bottomed out against the grips and prevented me from getting the slide off the gun. A little shaving with a blade resolved that problem, and again, the problem may have been a tolerance issue with the grips/frame rather than the lever itself. 3. The hammer needed some polishing to get rid of some grit in the trigger pull...no worse than some factory hammers I've encountered. 4. The face of the trigger shoe was shaped weird...less radiused than a factory sig trigger. It worked fine, and was well constructed and well-finished, I just didn't care for the way it felt and ended up replacing it with a grayguns trigger. Everything else was absolutely fine. The hammer strut was actually better than some of the Sig factory stuff I've seen on recent P-series purchases. I also ordered some extractor parts for the P239 that were just fine. One thing I REALLY like about Matrix is that they ship very quickly and at reasonable cost. Their parts pricing is also a good bit better than other vendors, and they stock almost everything. The next time I need parts, I'm going to them first.

Thank you sir - for your, as always, detailed response. The frame has arrived, I just need to do the tranny . Still haven’t ordered the parts kit due to finances - I am married to a real big spender. My M18 finally has some bids on GB – my FFL listed it – so finances will pick up shortly. I still haven’t actually examined a Revenant frame, so I am speaking out of turn here, but I am still thinking that Revenant also made/makes SIG frames … either that or SIG sold them the tech data package. Pure speculation.

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished |
I don't think Revenant makes frames for Sig. He frames are not identical to Sig factory frames. I'm not a machinist, but I don't think it would be difficult for a skilled one with access to CNC equipment to 'almost' duplicate a frame. They are 'Sig like' frames, not Sig frames. For example, the trigger guard is thicker which is causing me very slight Kydex holster fitting 'issues' with one of my Revenant frames but not the other but that's also due to variability in the holsters. Also, I also think Revenant is a pretty small operation. I would doubt he has the capacity to make frames for Sig in any quantity. I've seen videos of Wilson's new facility with a ton of machines doing all sorts of stuff. I imagine Sig has even more.
