Guys my alloy frame 226 grip screw holes have become to big. Someone suggested using #8-36 screws to fit. I cant find any local that are that are short enough for the grip. Anyone used this tecnique to solve the grip screw hole problem? Thanks Officer Dave

Another option would be to switch to the E2 grip, which requires no screws.

You can tap the aluminum to accept larger screws. I'd do it as a last ditch resort.

There are lots of thread repair options, have you looked at those? Your description doesn't really let me propose a specific product, so maybe a bit more? “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

I don't know how much commonality there is among different SIG models, generations, frame materials, etc. but my stainless frame P220's grip screws are M5 x 0.8 threads.
