I’m rather impressed. This may become my Appendix carry gun. Since I’m weird about striker fired and cocked and locked guns pointed at my femoral artery.

The recoil spring seems exceptionally light. So, off I went to find a replacement. Imagine my surprise that there aren’t any available.

But. I tried the spring out of an Sig P239 9mm. Same number of coils. Fits the guide rod. And (dry firing) functions well. No binding. But, considerably stiffer. And, longer. But, I don’t know how long the P250 spring was originally.

Barrel length is almost the same. Recoil guide looks almost identical. Is this a one to one match? Anyone tried it? Worst case scenario, it will be too heavy for reliability and, I can tinker some more.

Also, the previous owner drilled two holes in the dust cover to mount something. Remarkably, that angle wasn’t photographed in the ad. It won’t hurt anything. But, if anyone has a small, no rail p250 subcompact grip frame they’d like to part with, send me a price.

I think a P320 recoil spring is the same as the P250 spring

Assuming the magazine base plates match, a 320 frame fits too?

The P320 has a one piece modular 2 spring unit in the subcompact. Dunno if it would drop in.

I’ve got a chart that shows the P239 .9mm recoil spring is a direct replacement for the P250 in .40 and 357 SIG. and, i know it fits the P250 9mm. (Both subcompact). It may be a little too heavy. But, who knows. I know I can’t hurt anything by trying it. Glock ra the same spring in all the 19s

As far as the frame. It should.

Nice!

Congrats on your P250SC.

Mine has served me well for many years.

15 years ago Cabela’s had a sale on 250s. I picked up a subcompact for, I think, $359.00. Kind of a blocky little gun, and not as good looking as my other Sigs, but it was cheap.
I still have it. Never had a malfunction, really nice trigger, and I don’t have a problem with the double action. Have no desire to get rid of it

This is a gun that I still have some interest in. If I could find one cheap, I'd probably snap it up just to play with. The idea of a small, modular, DA carry platform that takes P320 mags and grip modules has appeal.

One word of caution...try it with some ammo with harder primers and make sure it ignites them consistently. I had a bad experience with a P250 compact giving me light strikes. It may have been just my example, but it kinda destroyed my confidence in that particular gun, and I had a hard time finding parts to troubleshoot it. I'm still open to trying another, but I'd definitely vet it thoroughly before doing anything serious with it.

This may be of interest to you. I married a compact grip frame to a sub compact gun to get a ten-round capability. I had to do some surgery on the front dust cover, but I like the result.

Well. It would give a longer grip. Are you in a 10 round state?

My sympathies.

But for the grace of God, I could have wound up in one. As a kid, I lived in Manhattan, valley Stream NY and Hawaii.

But, spent all of my adult life in Texas and now Nevada.

I have a couple of P320 Subcompact grip frames. They are interchangeable with P250 frames. The e-mail address in your profile isn't complete and I couldn't use it to contact you. If you're interested, send me an e-mail to the address in my profile and we can discuss details.

First Sig was a P250 Compact 40, it was all they had when it came out and the Sig Rep was at the LGS showing them off. Spent some money getting the FS kit, and other calibers, it developed problems, would fire a few rounds and quit, no matter the setup, went back to SIG after sitting in the safe for a few years and they fixed it but eventually traded it in as I couldn't be comfortable with it.

Few years ago one popped up in the trade in case and I snapped it up, nobody wanted it, everyone wants the P320, under $200 for it, in the box, out the door. I was a heck of a deal and I agree the hammer fired was always a plus.

That’s fantastic. Thank you. I was happy to find them at $33!!

I did clip 2 coils of a P239 9mm recoil spring. Seems to work perfect.
