9x25 Dillon or other calibers for converting a 10mm Glock G40?
For fun, I’m looking at getting a 9x25 Dillon barrel for the Glock 40. Dies are back ordered from Dillon but uses 40 S&W shellplates etc.
Any other interesting calibers that aren’t to hard to get into? The longer barrel length may present a challenge, seems there are a few for the G20 but not so for the G40.

Usually when 9x25mm is mentioned, the stories about how unpleasant it is to shoot soon follow.
115 grain Hornady XTP at over 1600 fps. 90 grain Sierra slugs at about 1850 fps. This video gives an idea of the muzzle blast one experiences with this cartridge.

I've heard stories of shooters damaging their hearing in short order shooting 9x25 Dillon. It's an obnoxious round.

Never got why Glock didn’t launch a 9x23 version of a G40…

I definitely wouldn't want to shoot a 9x25 Dillon round out of a lightweight polymer pistol. It would have to be something all steel like a 1911. I know little about this round, but with its bottleneck design, it must be based on the 10mm.
On another "9 millimeter" note, I never got why the grandfather of all the "longer 9mm rounds", the 9mm Mauser Export, died around the end of WW II. Instead a whole slew came and went (9mm Bergmann, 9mm Largo, 9mm Browning Long, 9x21, 9x23 etc). The 9mm Mauser Export cartridge is simply a straight 7.63x25mm Mauser. Seems like a simple, straightforward design.

I think I remember Taran Butler having something on social media about it recently.
