Step by step walk the thousand mile road |
I'm looking at buying a FCU with a safety but none of my existing grip modules is cut for the safety. Can I modify those modules to accept a FCU safety? If yes, is there a reference that shows how? There’s a faint line inside the grip that shows where to cut. __________________________ We few... We happy few...

All P320 grips modules can be modified for a safety. Even the X-series. Try AB Prototype if you want the cut done professionally. They can get whatever module you want (well maybe not right now but in theory) and cut it for you. Grayguns also can if you guy one of their Grayscale laser textured modules.

Yes . . . I contacted SIG Customer Service with this very question a couple months ago. This is what SIG recommended . . . to cut for the manual safety. He too mentioned the faint line as LMLarsen stated. I asked him if there was any 'plan' for SIG to make the black full-size grip modules with the manual safety cut, and he replied something along the lines of "not in the foreseeable future". I do see that some of the Wilson P320 Carry size (4-notch light rail) grip modules, both black and tan colors, come pre-cut for a manual safety, but not in the full size (6-notch light rail).

. AB Prototype offers a P320 conversion of a non-Safety FCU into a FCU with a manual safety. This wipes out the Sig warranty... One of their offerings is to cut your existing P320 Grip Module with a CNC machine so it can accept the FCU with a manual safety. www.AbProtoType.com/services/gunsmithing/ .

People will pay $45 + shipping to cut the safety notch in a $30 grip module?!? It's literally 5 minutes with a dremel...even if you have to buy the dremel, it's less money than that, and now you have a dremel!
