P220 or Legion 220
The price on the 220 45 Legion has never gone down but the 229 & 226 legions can be found under $1000.00.non optic version.
Is the legion worth the extra money? I have large hands and am not a trigger snob.
This will be used for carry...

You'll have to decide if the extras on the Legion are what you want and worth it to you or not. Do the calculations. To me, it's a no.

I am trying to stick to one platform ... I jumped ship from HK to Sig P series. 226. 229 and now want a 220.
The only HK I have left is a LTT P30L.
Thanks for the input!

If the size of the grip isn't an issue, you can also check out a P227 or a P227 Carry.

Shop around and be patient, you may be able to find one for cheaper than you thought.

Let us know what you decide.

I had a 227 but sold it ... mistake on my part.

The Legion is a wonderful variant of the P series.

Large hands here, and the Legion grip beavertail is ideal. Standard frame P series are not.

Look for late model Legion with cerakote finish, not the early PVD finish.

ETA found my P220 Legion SAO today.

I had the P220 Legion.
To me the under cut under the trigger guard, beavertail, and Legion grips made it worth it. It was a very wonderful pistol to shoot and carry.

^^^ Is there any information on the box end labels that would point to which finish?

What Ryanp225 said, the undercut and grips are worth it to me. I just picked up a West German P220, and it’s no match in feel, compared to my 226 Legion.

I have both, a P226 Elite Stainless and a P220 ST. The only things I needed for the 220ST, were new night sights and a SRT kit. I prefer the older firearms. They both are equally fine tools.

Kimber Custom II
2 Springfield 1911s

The label states Cerakote

Congratulations, I think you will be pleased with your decision.

Should have it this week than to the range.
100 Reloads Nosler 185 grain Bullets. Winchester primers and TITEGROUP powder. 50 rounds of Ranger T 230 grain & 25 rounds of Critical Duty +P 220 gr

202 Rounds fired.

50 Rounds Ranger T 230 grains
50 Rounds Critical Duty +P 220 gr
102 Rounds my reloads. Nosler and Zero Bullets 185 grain Tightgroup powder Starline Brass Winchester large pistol primers.

Used 1 Stock Magazine and 3 ACT-MAGs
No problems with factory ammo some light primer strikes with the reloads ... they all fired the second time shooting them ... happened 9 times out of 102 rounds.

I have owned high end 1911's HKs in 45 caliber.
Glock 41 and XDM 45 ... The Legion is JMO a very accurate mild recoiling pistol.
Having large hands, it carries very well.

The trigger blows away the stock HK 45 & the 45c.

Dislike's the front sight is hard for me to pick up.
Only holds 8 + 1 the 10 Round Mags look a little big.

That said no regrets at all, the look and feel 0f it and the accuracy was worth the money.

I am no world class shooter by any stretch.
Ran the wizard drill ... The Test ... FBI Qual and slow fire B8 target 25-yard shooting ... The Legion made me look good.

I will take some pictures and post them.

I want to thank all who answered my questions.
This forum is helpful.
Thanks again!

Capacity on a carry gun is mute! If you can’t take care of business with 9 rounds, it is probably natural selection. Congrats on the new Sig!!
