Can someone who now has a Sig P320 M18 give us a real world range report? Likes/dislikes, ergonomics, trigger, accuracy, etc. Yes, I've read the "pro" reviews on the internet. I'd like to hear from an ordinary citizen who bought one.

I have a M18.

I also have other P320's.

The M18 isn't bad, but certainly isn't my favorite nor the best example of the platform. It was designed for the military as a safe option to arm soldiers that barely know how to shoot and handle a pistol. The procurement process also took so long that it's basically stuck in 2015.

The Danish X-Carry guns would have been a better option.

I much prefer my 4.7" Pro Cut Slide with a Romeo1Pro and X-Carry grip.

I should probably elaborate a little more...

The ergonomics feel pretty good in the hand when just holding it, but the X grip module is much more shootable. The original P250/P320 grip modules feel like you're holding a squeeze ball because of the palm swells.

The M18 isn't a particularly small or concealable pistol. The Glock 19 and P229 are much smaller and concealable pistols when they're compared the M18.

I find the 4.7" guns much more shootable (if that makes sense) and you give up basically nothing with them.

Yea, I just don’t like the regular p320 grip. I love the P320 XCarry though. Same barrel length, flat trigger etc.

I you want the M18, the Wilson Combat grip will improve things IMO.

All I can say is after my first 100 round thru my M18 is that it is an excellent weapon. The trigger is very good and the reset it well felt and you can hear it. The sights were great and set perfectly from the factory. At 10 to 15 yards it grouped very well with rounds touching as long as I did my part. I have carried a Glock for 30 years but the M18 will be what I will carry for now out.

Bought the new CA M18 and have been very happy. Shoots accurate, and handles well. I have over 550 rounds through mine and it’s been flawless for reliability (with the exception of one dead primer - not the guns fault.

It isn’t great for concealment - the Glock is easier to conceal. But for shooting and open carry options I think it’s excellent.

If you don’t like the stock M18 grip Sig now offers the X Carry grip in the same color but with the safety cut out .

I've handled the GO version of the M18 and shot the M17 for qual and carried it as a primary weapon. I've also got 3 P320s 2 Pro models and an FCU.

Truthfully, the only reason I'd buy one is to get the manual safety. If Sig sold the the FCU with the manual safety, I'd just by that.

The military uses the old grip module isn't bad, but the SIG X series, AXG Series, Wilson, Gray Guns,etc. Grip modules are IMHO better.

Slides, frankly I like the pro model slides better then the military model. On the .mil model you lose the rear sight when you remove the cover plate on the top of the slide, you then have to remount or buy M18/M17 specific setups. The pro style slide aka X series (optics ready) have separate sight grooves milled into the slide. That way you have sights independent of the optic. I prefer to put silencer height sights on mine.

Also, unless you really like the glock 45 or really want a 17 round magazine with a 3.9 inch barrel, I'd recommend going with the compact grip, it's lighter and easier to conceal IMHO.

The pop up loaded chamber indicator isn't a bad thing, but it's also not needed (it is a contract requirement). A cut out at the back of the breech does the same thing.

Don't get me wrong the M18 is a good pistol and we probably could have just gone with the M18 (like USMC and USAF) instead of the M17/M18 combo.

I don’t have one anymore, but I’ve had both the M17 and M18. Comfortable, reliable, accurate firearms with good triggers. I hated the rear sight though. It is enormous and blocks more of my view if the target than I’d like.

Mines in jail for 7 more days, but who's counting...

They are sold all the time on Gunbroker. Usually cheaper than the Custom Works FCU.

Edit: I said "Usually" but I just checked and while there are some deals available, overall prices seem to have gone up for them.

If you don't like the stock P320 grip, try the X-Carry or the Wilson Combat. IMO they are both an improvement on the stock grip.

Just came home with me today.

Interesting photo (above) of the M18. Not sure why the USGI version only has 3 slots on the rail. But I guess that's normal as even my SIG Airsoft M18 only has 3 slots.

The SIG P320 grip has four(4) slots as does the Wilson Combat grip.

Never noticed this despite the M18 airsoft and real P320 have been sitting on my desk almost side-by-side for days.

Other than the slots and some trivial variations in sights and sight plates the P320C and M18 are the same pistol.

I'm at over 1000 rounds through my CA version of the M18 and it's been 100% reliable. The only two malfunctions were bad ammo.

The only negative is the M18 sight...but a Romeo X has fixed that.
