Curious as to what 9mm ammo the Swiss military use for their Sig P-75 pistols?

Currently Pistolenpatrone (14 (2014)

Basically it's Geco SX 124 grs FMJ ammo.

I once asked the Ruag rep at SHOT if I could buy the Swiss hardball that shot the test target with my P210. He said sure, minimum order a million rounds.

That would have been the ammo that was used before the PistPat 2014: pistol cartridge 1941. It had a unique bullet and had some other differences as well. In short: it only was made for the swiss army, which made it expensive.

Kampfhamster is correct. The "new" Pist Pat 14 is a commercial product and is compliant with CIP/Nato. The commercial designation of the cartridge is Geco 9mm Luger FMJ SX 124gr.

The differences between Pist Pat 14 to Pist Pat 41 are the bullet shape and the material of the bullet jacket us it is now compliant with CIP/STANAG/Nato standards.

Because the sky was about to fall during the changeover, 1 million cartridges were made available to the shooting clubs throughout Switzerland, which were shot in competitions so that they could convince themselves that the new cartridge was just as accurate as the old one.
Shot from the machine, the results are comparable and are in the range of 60mm at 50m with 1000 (I think)shots with both cartridges.

9mm ammunition with Pist Pat 14 headstamp in army packaging can be purchased for immediate consumption only at the shooting stands, but is not available for purchase in stores.

I see for PP41
Geschoss mit Kupfer-Nickel (CuNi) plattiertem Stahlmantel

Most places got away from cupro-nickel jackets some time ago. I have read old accounts of "hard metal fouling" in .30 1906.

I nominate member Legal Beagle to organize a group order. Big Grin

A million rounds? If the price is competitive w/ current market pricing, that'd cover around 40-50 separate member orders.

Thanks for the replies/info, closest I'll get is Geco FX 124gr in USA.

CuNi Jackets are a little discussed topic, but it was probably one of the reasons K31s were selected for competition shooting by bore size.
In the first GP90 series, the jacket was probably a reason for the gas slip in the transition cone that burned out the PE/StG 90 barrels.
The CuNi jacket is less of a problem on the 9mm Pist Pat 41. The reason for the replacement was simply the cost of procurement.
