Looking for a nice range gun that I can eventually mount a red dot on. Just wondering are they worth the extra $$ compared to the regular X5?

The Sig Legion 320 may be the best value they've got going in the Legion line and in the P320 line and one of the better deals on the market. You can't build one or put together something like it and stay within the price. You couldn't make the changes to a P320 X5 and keep it within the same budget. It's a very good deal.

Whether the cost is worth it to you or not is subjective to your needs and tastes.

I've built several pistols with TXG grips, grayguns guiderods and triggers, Dawson tactical sights, etc, and even then, none of them had pretension barrels, RMR cuts, the same slide, etc, and the cost was about the same as the Legion. No way to get all that the Legion offers, for that price, other than to buy a Legion.

Do the X Five Legions shoot better than the old P320 X Fives? Do they have better triggers, are they more accurate?

I have a "Poor Man's X-Five"

$379 P320F Red Box
$75 X-Five grip module
$27 Gray Guns Fat Rod
$75 Apex trigger bar
$85 Keres fully adjustable trigger

I don't know what I'm up to, but the trigger breaks at 2lbs-8oz (the CPO had a 4lb trigger)
I would not trade it for a Legion trigger.

I wouldn't buy a Legion for its trigger (you can change that).
I'd buy it for the tungsten infused grip module and the upper.

I have a X-Five Legion and just mounted a Romeo 1 Pro on it. For what the gun is I don't think there is a better "out of the box" deal out there. The trigger is good, and can easily be made even better and the weighted frame is great. I think it's well worth the price.

Is the Romeo1 pro the 6 moa version or the 3 moa?

I have read like every written piece on the X5 Legion and every single article talked about the weight, like its a lot. I went to a LGS and felt both versions of the X5 the other day. Maybe its the decades of carrying a P220 on duty and one of which was a stainless version (now that is heavy, but damn it shot), but I didn't find it objectionable at all. Certainly heavier than an X5, but far from a handicap. I don't own a 320, but I think I just found the one I want.

I agree 100%. I have a P320 Legion with a romeo1 pro (3MOA) and a grayguns comp trigger kit. I kept the stock Legion trigger and installed everything else in the trigger kit and the pull is short and breaks around 2.5lbs. I started with a Leapold Deltapoint Pro but swapped it out to co-whitness the stock front sight. I am glad I switched, I prefer the romeo1 pro over the deltapoint pro.

I also have a regular P320 X5 with a romeo1 on it with a complete grayguns comp trigger kit. I did install a TXG grip.

I love both guns and they are amazingly accurate. If I were to start again and only have one, I would go with the P320 Legion because you get options for the red dot. Also the TXG grip is a game changer in polymer guns. The stock Legion trigger is better than the standard X5 trigger. The Legion does not cost much more and you get a ton more in value.

I bought one and sold it a couple of months later. Is the tungsten infused frame cool? Sure, but on the downside it’s really heavy. (Yes I realize that’s the point). Is it accurate? Sure, but only after adjusting the sights to the point they’re obviously not centered.

I don’t know, I found after a couple of trips to the range it just sat in the safe. If I wanted a 320 I’d grab the compact.

I wish I had gotten the non legion model.

My experience.

After much research I'm ordering a Sig Legion X5 to go with my P226 Legion SAO!
