Among you owners that have had your Remington R1 5" .45 base model for two years or less and especially you that bought yours since their bankruptcy what sort of luck have you had with yours ? Any issues at all be them inside, outside, with function, etc ? If you did have issues how has customer service been as of very late ? Thanks.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
Not to sound like too much of a smart ass but, with so many other good options out there, why take the risk? ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Dunno about the R1, but our shop will be finding out about how well their CS works when we send back a customer's NIB TAC-14 that has a defective action lock bar that, of course, doesn't lock the action when the forend is racked forward.

The R-1 tempts me, since I have been seeing them cheap. But, using my recently produced 870 HD as a yardstick, I think I will pass. The Ruger SR1911 is only a little $$$. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I would take a Springfield Mil-spec over a standard R1 any day. They are $550 and much better quality series 70 1911.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Dusty78, _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

I'll third that motion. SA is a lot easier to deal with and the Mil-spec's that I have seen have been more consistent than R1's.

It’s possible he’s referencing the SR1911, seen here for sub $700. https://www.deguns.net/product-p/6700.htm

If so I'm looking for a 1911 with no beavertail or skeleton parts.

People still buy the R1? Edit: Never mind. I was thinking of that other pistol they put out that was a total shitshow. Still wouldn't buy anything Remington thats new "Pickin' stones and pullin' teats is a hard way to make a living. But, sure as God's got sandals, it beats fightin' dudes with treasure trails." Thanks. I won't give more than $450 shipped for the R1 at this point and my bid reflects that but for that amount I'd give it a chance.

I have a semi recently made R1 and its perfect. Tight slide to frame fit, machining is excellent, function is perfect.....I'm pleased with the $500 I paid for a NIB OTD R1.
