Hi, new to the forum. I have owned several P226s and still own two. I had a question about the original boxes. I recently acquired a 1993 P226 that was said to have the original box. It came with the hard plastic box of the mid -90s guns. I also understand that the paper "grey boxes" were still in use in 1993. Does anybody know if any 1993 P226s came in the plastic boxes (i.e., transition year)? This message has been edited. Last edited by: JPB,
Pry off & lift up the foam insert's right side. If the case is original to the gun, the factory label should be there. It's easy to do. It's not glued down.

@12131, Thank you Sir! This is a nickel 226, so without a box to prove its authenticity, the value drops significantly. It pictures show the plastic box, described as original, with a KD date code on the gun. Hmm..
