PossibleZombieQuestion for P365 XL owners about releasing the slide
I bought a P365 XL with a Romeo Zero today and noticed that with an empty magazine in the only way I can release the slide is by pressing the slide release. When I try pulling the slide to the rear to release it it simply goes back to its locked open position. Am I missing something here or is this just how this weapon is? I haven't loaded a round into the chamber yet so maybe it is different with chambering a round in that manner.

rockchalk06I'm not trying to be rude, so if this comes off as rude, I apologize.
You're attempting to release the slide with an empty mag in the weapon and have to push down on the slide stop lever to do so?
That means the weapon is doing exactly as advertised. It's locking back on an empty mag. That's what it does.
Drop the mag, pull back on the slide and it should go into battery.

tk13If you have an empty mag in the pistol, the magazine follower will push up on the slide lock, keeping the slide open unless you push down the follower, such as with the slide lock/release. Sounds like it is working as designed.
Will pulling back the slide release the lock if there is no magazine or if there is magazine with rounds in it?

PossibleZombieMan, I deserve some ribbing for this. Blame a scattered brain for sure. Disregard my question and flame away. I shall feel internet embarrassment for an appropriate amount of time.

I was going to be the first response but looked at the post count and figured I might be the one missing something.

I must have reread the OP five times.
