Picked up this P229 9mm ESE while I was out wandering around yesterday. Found it Bear Arms in Scottsdale. Refinished inside and out and came with 3 mags.

I have two P229s in 40cal plus a 357sig barrel and was searching in vain to find a 9mm conversion kit. Found this beauty for $619.00 and just had to snatch it up on the spur of the moment.

Will this P229-9mm accept the standard P229-9mm mags and just hang down a little below the bae of the grip?

The P229 9mm ESE is on the P229 40 cal frame and uses the P229-1 9mm mag which is wider than the standard 9mm mag. This was done in order to fit in the 40 cal mag well. The standard mag will work but will be loose and wobble side to side.

Thanks SFCUSARET for your answer...With the collection of P226’s I have and all of the various mags I was hoping the standard P226 mag would fit....Really like the looks and design of this P229 model....Thanks again - Mark
