Got all my Sigs out aside from the 2 P-210 Americans for a group photo. Will be posting them in more detail later when I get the time.

Starting left to right, with the P-229 Sport in .357 Sig, P-229 in .40 with a .357 Sig barrel, P-229R in 9mm, P-226 9mm, P-220 Hawes gun made in 1977 in .38 Super and lastly a Kryptek Camo P-220 10mm.

The 229R, the new grip just feels better in the hand. Now the Sport shoots like a laser, but is loud. The 220-10mm is a smooth shooting 10, with light recoil. It is heavy though!

Impractical for its intended purpose, sure, but sexy as hell!

That's a very nice collection. I had a 1976 P220 that I recently sold for a nice profit. Had the box and all. Probably should have kept it, but it is what it is.

Here's my current Sig and Sig Sauer collection.

P226 X-Five Short, P229 Sport, P226 Super Match, P226 Sport, P226 X-Five L1, P220 Sport, P220 X-Six

6 of 7 are German Mastershop models. The only one that isn't is the P220 Super Match from the Sig USA Custom Shop.

I kept the P210's separate, since they are so different and technically not even designed by the same company back in the day.

P210-6, P210-6, P210 Target, P210 Super Target, P210 Super Target

Well it is date coded HH for 1977. From what I have found Hawes was the first importer for Sig and they only had a small shipment in before Browning took over. Of the Hawes guns I believe only 15 were in .38 Super. The gun came with the original cheap blue cardboard box with nothing on it, the manual and some cheap foam. I used to shoot it, but no longer do. I have a set of Sig wood grips which I believe are Knills and 5 factory mags.

The P229 Sport is the most common, while the P226 Sport is the rarest. Another fun fact is that the P226 version features a steel barrel weight instead of the aluminum compensator the other two have.

I used to own 60 some 1911’s, but it was out of control. I kept my nicest models. I always loved the platform. You have some fine examples.

How do you like your American models?

I bought one since the others were starting to bring big bucks. I’ve been very impressed with it so far. Not sure how long Sig will continue with it. They only seem focused on the P320 and P365. They already discontinued the P210A Standard

One of my best friends gifted me a P229 Sport as a retirement gift

Best 5 shot group rested with the target model was a big larger than a quarter in size. I bought two standard models, one to shoot and one to hold on to if the price goes up. Smooth trigger, every bit as good as the 210-6 that I used to own, without the blood donation.

Love the Sports, never picked one up.

All that said the SIGs are nice and 1911s are always fetching but with a moniker of P08 I feel like you are holding something back……..something of a German variety, something dare I say named after some guy named “George”.

Come on man!! I want to see a Luger. It’s one of the very few legendary guns I have never shot.

Seriously though…….that Sport. Yum.
