It's P2XX month - 2 new classics added!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In that case, I'll let this one speak for itself.

After almost 22 years of visiting this wonderful site, I have finally joined the club of owning the original classic Sig which is represented as our fine site logo. But I didn't set out that day to buy this. In fact, I stumbled upon it completely by accident. More about that later. But first, let me introduce you to this late edition P225. It is so new the slide is not marked W. Germany. Just Germany. So let's cut to some more glamour shots.

Here she is in all her glory. Including the test target and manual.

I do question if the case is original. But based on a 1998 date, it is possible this black case is period correct. The thing adding to the confusion is what looks like the original shipping labels taped to the back side of the box. Everything here matches what I have.

I searched our forum here for answers before posting anything and found this informative thread.

No idea on what finish this one has. My tag does not say K-Kote. Regardless, I am very happy with this purchase. This thing is clean as can be. It also came with 2 additional Sig mags. The extra mags were enough to seal the deal.

But as I mentioned earlier that I found this by accident. That's because when my eyes saw this pistol, I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough. It was after I paid for this one that I then saw the 225.

My grail Sig 10mm. P220, Two-tone and traditional DA/SA.

I did buy a Legion SAO a few years ago as the price was too good to pass up. But this is ultimately the 10mm pistol I have always wanted. Thus my screen name here. Serial number here appears to be early in the release from 2015 as so well documented in the thread here.

So here we are in February 2026 and the gun budget is already busted. The year has started out strong. Here's to finding a few more exciting things to add to my collection this year.

Your 'KJ' German P225 wears the standard SIG Blued finish, so not K-Kote, which in pictures, looks nearly identical to the black anodizing on the frame in most light. Regardless, it's most certainly a VERY Nice P225! Wink

This is K-Kote... Cool

A dream of mine is to run across a P229 (pre- R) in .357SIG, new in the box, at a reasonable price, at a time when I can afford a reasonable price!

Your find makes me think I'll find mine some day, too!

Congrats!

That's why I bought my 229, found a factory .357 sig with no rail wayyyy back in the day and it came home with me to live with its no rail 9mm brother.

I should have done the same thing, but I wasn't aware of all the sources available back then. I bought one from a member here some years back, it's in great shape functionally and had a factory rebuild before I got it, but it shows its age, unlike dwp10mm's.

Thanks nhracecraft. Based on my label I believed that to be the case. I recognize yours from the older post I referenced. While I was hopeful seeing as how my serial number was in the 644xxx range, it in no way devalues my find. It is a very pristine pistol.

Finally got to the range this week. It is safe to say I have a new favorite 10mm. And I don't say that lightly. I have an original Delta Elite, S&W 1076s and 1066, Glock 20, X-Ten, S&W M&P and a Legion SAO. But nothing beats an original Sig DA/SA.
