Which would you take? Glock 19X MOS factory non threaded barrel or the equivalent PSA Dagger full size for half the price?

For ME:
DA/SA=Sig 9mm or HK P30 LEM 9
Striker fired= Glock 9mm
If it's a .45= 1911
Suppressed= HK in .45
I like anything in 10mm

Neither. If it doesn't absolutely have to be FDE, then go with the G45 MOS instead.

The fact that the G19X can't use Gen 5 G17 magazines because of its unnecessary front magwell lip annoys me.

I mean what he said in spades, I was just trying to limit myself to your specific question. Smile

Side question? I thought the MOS G19X only came with a threaded barrel?

Nope it's a Davidson's exclusive. Look at the serial numbers on the barrel and slide. Factory.

Nope. There are three models of G19X MOS, and only one comes with a threaded barrel. (Technically more if you count the factory neutered mag versions, which come with their own model numbers.)

There's the PX1950S03MOSTB, the PX1950S03MOS, and the PX1950703MOS.

The PX1950S03MOSTB model comes with a threaded barrel and suppressor sights.

The two non-TB models come with a standard barrel and then either suppressor sights (PX1950S03MOS) or standard height sights (PX1950703MOS).

Wow thanks. I always thought it silly they “only” had a thread barrel option for the MOS.

Glock.
I like my prescriptions to be generic. Hard goods I like the brand. Better resale value but also I like to support the R&D they do. (I know, I just contradicted myself but he asked)

Dagger doesn't seem to get much love.

I don't know much about them besides they're essentially a Glock clone at a lower price.

What will it be used for? What's your budget? Are you a gun-owner or a shooter?

The majority of gun-owners buy a gun and take it out every few years, just often enough so they remember how it works and what shooting a gun feels like.

Shooters care about practicing and about their skill perishing. A shooter might only average four range trips annually, but that's still much more than the typical gun-owner (or LEO). If a shooter can't budget range time, he will still dry-fire practice.

I used to be a simple gun-owner, but after many years, I turned into a shooter. If you bother to join a gun board like SF and actively participate, then odds are you're a shooter.

I preface this, b/c the short answer is given the two choices, the Dagger is designed for gun-owners. The G19X is for shooters. The Dagger is a great value option, but it is not as accurate nor designed to last as long as a Glock.

Is $300 or so a lot to you right now? If you have to eat hotdogs & 25-cent ramen noodles to afford the G19X, then it isn't worth the strain on your budget.

If it's a matter of frame preference, you can build up a Dagger frame w/ OEM Glock or aftermarket parts superior to PSA's.

If it were between a G45 MOS and PSA Dagger, both in black, would you have something productive to add? Roll Eyes

All I know is that I've tried multiple G19 over the years & just never shoot them decently/naturally.

The Dagger was a more natural shooter off the bat.

Glock, unless money is an issue. If money is an issue, wait and buy a used Glock.

I've got nothing against PSA. I own several of their uppers. I like the uppers I have quite a bit. I'd never compare them quality wise to my Colt uppers. Glocks cost a lot less than Colt uppers, so even if it was just a fun gun I'd still go Glock.

I scoffed at the G19X and G45 until I actually shot one. They just feel better in my hand than the G19.

G45 would be my choice for both the color and mag compatibility issues mentioned above.

Strictly on what you asked, I'd take the 19x. I've always felt the 17 grip was more comfortable for me.

Glock. Used or cop turn ins are bargains! But I do want to try out the PSA if I get the chance.
