Eek that is one pretty revolver there.

I'm missing a revolver from my stable but I know when I get one, I want it to be .357.

Wow nice. Talo also has a blued 5inch that looks fantastic.

Did Ruger ever work out the 7 shot issue? Something about some rounds not fitting or something?

Damn I like that thing ya got there. Smile

Thanks!
Apparently they got the math worked out on the cylinder. Or maybe it has something to do with no fluting. I dunno.
But yes, some of the early guns had an issue with the rims on SOME AMMO (usually Blazer brass, IIRC) overlapping and therefore not fully chambering.
I checked this one with several different brands (no blazer available, but I very seldom use any of that stuff anyway)of 357 and 38 before purchase. There is a noticeable (but VERY small) gap between the rims.
I took it out to my little range and ran about 35 rounds through it. Same speed loaders for my 686+ work on it, so that’s a good thing.
Worse thing I’ve come across is that sometimes an empty hangs up on the grip during ejection.
But the grips feel really good and paired with just enough weight in the gun, recoil is tamed quite well.

I think it’s a keeper.

That gun is so pretty it's worth a quote with pic.

Describe shooting it, if you would. I have a Ruger LCR in .38 as well as a no-dash 4" 586 for reference, but I've always kicked around the idea of a GP-100.

Nice looking handgun. Wonder about the recoil using 357 loads with that short barrel. A range report would be great.

I have a 3inch Gp100 and its sublime. I mean if you load cruise missile loads yeah it can be a handful but generally the GP100 in 3 inch handles .357 magnum pretty well, recoil is fairly manageable.

Now the sound signature and blast......well....that makes itself known. Big Grin

This makes GP100 number three. Plus a DAO SP101.
The other GP’s are 4”, a “standard” and a Match Champion.
The SP is a 2.25” (pretty brutal with full power 357).

I’ve always been able to shoot the Rugers better than the Smiths (my Smith 686+ is a 3”).
They just balance better for me and the grip angles work out better during presentation. I have always believed that the 4” was a sweet spot for me with revolvers. But this thing is making me rethink that conclusion.
My problem with a lot of grips is that while I don’t have big hands, I have long fingers. I usually wrap too far around most grips and my fingers get in each others’ way with a two handed grip.

These grips form to my hand perfectly, and their round butt design makes it near perfect for carry in my Galco Combat Master. I have always been a fan of the old school rubber/wood inlay grips, but so far I think I like these better.
The grips are round in all the right places, and swell at the correct points to “fill my hand”.
It’s like it puts more of the grip in contact with my hand, letting me ride the recoil back down to a clean sight picture in a more timely fashion. Or maybe I’m just enjoying it because it’s new. Big Grin

I hope that helps.

Tomorrow I’ll get the other GP’s out and see if I can post some pics to give an idea of the differences on grips. Different grips really can make it feel like a totally different gun.

I have one with a 3" barrel and later added the Davidson's distributor exclusive 5". The 5" is a sweet shooter and has the perfect proportions, but I find that I still prefer the older 3". That size factor just pushes the right buttons. Its recoil is very manageable for me, at least with the fugly Hogue overmold grip in place. That grip makes it possible for me to shoot .357MAG for extended periods with relative comfort and ease.

I have a couple WC 3 inchers. The 3 inch is a nice sweet spot. Mine only has 6, I am kind of jealous. Nice pickup.

I agree, great looking gun.

I had a Wiley Clapp 3” and it was a pussycat. I took a female friend shooting and if it wasn’t her first time, she was relatively new and she was intimidated by its bark and fireball but I convinced her it wasn’t as bad as it looked and she loved it afterwards.
