blueinterceptorWhich is better in you opinion and why
I’m torn between picking up another m11a1 and 229 elite
Neither will be drilled for rdo
I like the checkering on the elites grip and maybe the beaver tail
If the m11 had the checkered front strap, I’d just take the m11.
What’s the learned opinion?

92fstechI have an Elite and an SAS. If you're not putting the RDO on it, I'd rather have the M11.
I do like the relief cut under the trigger guard and the checkering on the Elite. But the rail-less frame without the beavertail is trimmer and carries better. I have an RDO on my Elite, so it's bulky anyway, but if I'm sticking with irons I like my SAS, which is basically just the M11 with a melt job.

ruger357Sounds like you like the 229 better and I agree. Especially if you already have an M11.

12131One is not “better” than the other. They’re both P229, just with different configurations. So, it comes down to which configuration you prefer. Me, I would pick the M11-A1. Why? No rail no tail.

blueinterceptorIf the m11 had the checkering on the front strap and the relief cut out on the trigger guard. I’d buy 3.

12131Like I said, it’s all about personal preference. So, go buy the Elite.
Better yet, buy both and you won’t have to keep scratching that itch.

flesheatingvirusSounds like you like the Elite more, so do that. Personnally, I can't stand the look of the long extractors on either. I'd get an older version with the short, milled one.

blueinterceptorI’m not a fan of the rail but I like the checkering on the front strap. I like the short reach trigger on the m11 but I also like the solid guide rod on the elite.
I ordered an elite today and will send it to sig for a short reach trigger and an action enhancement job.
