I just got back a little while ago from 1 of my many visits to the Cathedral in northern VA, the NRA national Museum. They have been updating their displays so now they have small index cards with information right next to the actual firearm. One does not have to memorize a number and then walk over to a terminal to find information about the firearm. Sometimes the old-fashioned analog ways better. For those of you who have not been there in some time they have a great display of Thompson submachine guns including one in which only 50 were produced in semiautomatic only. According to the display card, certain police departments 1 of the Thompson but did not want their offices having a fully automatic weapon. The guns are in great condition. I got a little tour one time when I was there by 1 of the curators and I asked him about the Mayflower gun, i.e., the one they found in a restoration of John Alden's house. Naïvely I said what is a gun like that worth 50 or hundred thousand dollars and he politely laughed and said no, $5,000,000.

If you live in the area and have never been there or have not been there recently is certainly worth the trip. If you visit the nation's capital, it is much more entertaining than some of the monuments.
