Sig 225 Allaround
New to the forum, but not to firearms. I’ve come across a Sig 225 All Around 6” Barrel, supposedly in very good condition for $,1300. Would it make a good range gun and most importantly is this a fair, good, or high price? Tom

Welcome to the Forum

I am sure it is a typo and you mean a P226 Allround

That is a price that I would jump on as fast as possible for an X6 Allround

I have two X5 Allrounds, which are 5" P226s as the name implies, they are fantastic firearms.

Mine are chambered in 9MM and 357SIG, what is the chambering of the one that you are looking at?

don't send any money right away, there's no such thing as an 6" allround.

I contacted the seller. The gun is a 226 with a 5” barrel in 9mm with what he described as hard rubber grip panels. He described the gun as looking as if it’s been fired, used but not abused. He said that there were no scratches or bless on the metal surface. Does Sig still perform service and/or repair work on this model? Thanks for responding, Tom

Could you post a picture of this gun? I wasn't aware that SIG ever produced a X-Six Allround.

The gun is listed with a picture on the Jaqua’s Fine Guns website. I would appreciate your opinions. I’m not sure that they have it listed correctly. Thanks, Tom

It's listed as a 5" 226.

Yes, they acknowledged the errors and corrected the listing after I pointed out the errors. Since I’m unfamiliar with Sigs, is the gun worth the asking price. Thanks, Tom

I added the Nills grips to my X5 Allround pistols, but that is a great price On a superb firearm

Now that folks from this Forum know where it is, it might not be there too long Smile

Welcome to the forum!

Good price for what is being offered. I've seen some sell for twice as much. I have also seen one for cheaper (and bought it).

An Allround will also have the finger groove at the base of the trigger guard as shown in colt_saa's picture. If the grips came with it, they will have the curve to match. I shopped for some grips for mine and Nills can be found this way.

Be sure to check for the serial numbers on the frame, barrel, and slide. There will also be stamps as proof marks and the letters DE (Germany) also.

Let us know what you decide.

Yeah, 1300 for the Allround is a steal, uless there is some major defect. Yes, SIG will service the Allround. That's the only German Xgun they will service. They will not touch your SAO Xguns.

I had one several years ago, but sold it to a forum member for about that price about 6 years ago. If mine was SAO, I never would have sold it. The DA was a bit heavy, but the SA was great. I don't like rolling breaks, but since there was hardly any take up, I didn't mind.

Unless you like your guns super thick, I would think twice about putting wood grips on it unless you like your grip super chunky.

The serial numbers on the frame and slide match and the letters DE are stamped on them as well. “Made in Germany is not stamped on either. How many magazines came with these guns?

The 1st gen Allround is like this. Comes with the rubber padded base 17-round Mec-Gar made mags. Stock plastic grips. "Made In Germany" on the left side of the slide.

There was a member from Canada who, last year, posted a German P226 LDC II of his that was absent of the "Made In Germany" rollmark. Once in a while, you run into something like that, no country of origin marking on a SIG. I have 2 P225s from 1986 that don't have "Made In W. Germany" on them.

This is the exact same magazine that comes with the Allround above.

Unfortunately, I had to pass on buying the gun. So it’s up for grabs. Tom
