G19 MOS...opinions and advice on carry/holsters...
So I cuds't help myself. I sold a pistol I never used and got a G19.5 MOS. It's going to ride as my desk gun for while. If I really like it I'll have to get a 17.5 MOS to go in my duty holster. I'm going to try this whole RMR thing, as I'm zooming in on retirement in a few years. Our department will likely allow RMR's in a few months. I also love and shoot the G19 platform well. (as much as I try to stray...). I wanted front serrations, a magazine well without the cutout, and the option to put on a RMR.
Here's my question for the group?
-How has your experience been on mounting a RMR on the 19.5 MOS? -How is it finding holsters that fit suppressor height sights? -How is it finding holsters that fit the RMR? -How is it carrying the gun with an RMR mounted?
Thanks all.[FLASH_VIDEO] [/FLASH_VIDEO]This message has been edited. Last edited by: bcjwriter,

-How has your experience been on mounting a RMR on the 19.5 MOS? Easy. You need the glock plate, the trijicon sealing plate AC32064, you need the correct screws included in AC32064, you need some dielectric grease and it probably helps to have a way of measuring screw torque, but if you are not an idiot that's optional. -How is it finding holsters that fit suppressor height sights? Easy. I use bladetech and the std. holster does fine. Just about every vendor at this point can accommodate this. However I carry IWB so I have no idea on duty/retention holsters. -How is it finding holsters that fit the RMR? A non issue on the holsters I have (again IWB not retention) -How is it carrying the gun with an RMR mounted? Again IWB I've carried one for years. No problems and don't notice it in any way that's different than non RMR mounted. There are a couple of silly issues on RMR t2 due to the battery program but those are not directly related to your question.

I bought this exact gun this week. I'll tell you what I was told, make sure you buy the Trijicon mounting kit--model AC32064. I got mine from Amazon for around $13. It includes a sealing plate and the correct length screws. I watched a YouTube video for install using the kit and it was simple.

I’m buying one for the same reasons. G5 grip, no mag cutout, front serrations and marksmanship bbl. do they make it without the RDS cut, by the way?

For duty holsters, Safariland offers several options that accept RMR with backup sights and WML, 6354, 6392 or something like this, with retention of course. For concealed carry, there is a ton of options, you just need to specify the tall sights and Gen5 (some Gen4 holsters get an interference from right sided slide stop).

Unfortunately, no.
I like my MOS so much that I just bought a second. If the regular Gen 5 19 was the same gun without the MOS, I’d have bought it.
I recommend Dawson sights and Safariland holster for OWB/battle belts.
For IWB, I like TREX Arms with WML and RMR cut.

It comes with the cover plate so if you don't want to do an rds you can run it with normal sights. Mine has become my carry, I really like it. Basically fixed all my issues with the 19.5.
I've not had any issues mounting an rds. I had to take a heat gun to my holster to make room for the rds but it took the suppressor sights without issue. I haven't noticed any issues carrying with an rds so far but it's iwb so I'm guessing lint or something at some point.

Good experience here on a G15 Gen5 MOS. Safariland makes a great level 3 holster for them that accommodates and RDS. Worked great with my 17 w/ RMR and Suppressor sights.

I put my g19 MOS slide on my g45 frame...I love it
I have switched to aimpoint acros....I would suggest you look seriously at the acro, deltapoint, or trijicon SRO...they are superior to the RMR
Gunfighters inc is where I get my holsters made. They can and do make them for rmr and suppressor height sights...I am currently awaiting one that fits the. Acro, with a surefire 300 and suppressor height sights

Didn't know there were any SROs in the wild yet, other than T&E units with various outfits, competition shooters, and instructors.
