All these years I’ve had, carried and shot pistols I’v never tried Talon grips.

My full size Glocks and Sigs are fine for me. My 43x, though, I find somewhat slippery.

Not too long ago someone wrote about them in another thread. I have used cheaper rubber tape grips off the eBay and they were so-so.

I finally bought some Talon rubber for my 43x and installed them. I am very impressed!! Now, I gotta get some for my 43, 42 and 48!

The grips on P239 were very slippery. Talons made a world of difference and with little increase in grip size.

I have Talons on some of my and my girlfriends pistols and my Tavor. We like them.
If they start to peel, heat them with a hairdryer and press them back on.

Put a set on a S&W Shield. Made a heck of a difference.
Now I buy their sheet rubber material and put strips on the smooth front and back straps of my pistols to improve the grip.

I’m thinking my P228 may need some, too. They wear OEM plastic grips.

I like the full wrap Talon rubber on small guns, but it made my Plastic M&P feel bulky. I wonder if I can get most of it off, leaving a strip down the front strap, maybe the back.

I have used Talon's for several years on a variety of pistols: Shield, XDs, XDsc, and a few 1911's. The full panel grips seem to work the best for me on smaller pistols like the Shield and XDs. They did add slightly more girth than I wanted for the couble stack XDsc, but the grip is definitely more secure in my hand. Where they really shine is on the front strap of 1911's. They are a great substitute for front strap checkering. They are very easy to apply. They have two textures: rubber and sandpaper. I much prefer the rubber since it holds up better.

Hmmm.. I wonder how they would work to replace the rubber on cordless tools when they start peeling?

That's an expensive fix. Most of what you're paying for for Talon grips are the custom cut for a given firearm and for their repuation.

I was thinking about trying CatTongue grips for powertools, handtools, handguns, sporting goods, whatever.

I've shot a few guns with Talon grip tape on them. To me, it's not rough or gritty enough. Skateboard tape wears off too quickly.

3M No-skid tape. Home Depot, about $12 a roll, and there's more than enough for your guns, your friends guns and possibly a neighbor ps gun too.

Only downside is you have to do the cutting.

I've used Talons for years, along with Traction Grips too.
The sandpaper style grips are great for grip ability, but very abrasive for concealed carry against your body.

I wish there was a happy medium between sand paper and rubberized grips.

Look at the actual Talon site, rather than some of their online retailers. The "PRO" models have a granulated rubber that's grippier than the rubberized grips but less abrasive than the "sand paper". I've got Talon rubberized models on at least half a dozen pistols and recently put the PRO type on an HK USP40 Tactical; I find it a very happy medium.

I love the Talons, I have them on most of my Glocks now

I’d like to add some to my P228 but it covers the screw heads in the grip and I wonder about how much it’ll add to the grip. I’ll have to stew over it a bit.

Talon grips are one of the best firearm accessories available. IMHO.
Rubber texture is sinful they feel so good. Sandpaper really are excellent at gripping. Pro is indeed a nice compromise -- they feel a little closer to rubber than sandpaper.
Almost all of my glocks and 365's have one variant or another.

I have the Talon Pro grips on my HK 45C. It's a big improvement. It makes for a very secure grip.
