Well, not the gun, but the model that brought me to this forum that's been my home on the internet for the past 22.5 years. The Sig P225! My first Sig all those years ago was a P225. I knew next to nothing about it and found this forum while researching it. Stupidly, I sold that particular gun years ago. I'd often thought about buying another one but never did. Not until I was perusing an auction site a couple weeks ago. I saw what appeared to be a decent 225 that had only 1 bid which was very low. Why not I thought, so I put my max bid and didn't think much more about it. Later that evening I received a "you won" email. Awesome! The gun arrived at my FFL today and I picked it up on the way home from work. It in really good shape overall, came with 2 original zipper-back mags, and Trijicon sights. I believe it's a 1987 model but need to confirm that. Really happy to once again own the gun that started my Sig Forum journey and a classic P series pistol! (One of) the best looking gun SIG ever made. Mine is about 90k higher number than that. ----- Support the entire Constitution, not just the parts you like. Common sense isn't "right wing" unless you are too far to the left.

I have a 'JJ' 1988 Herndon P225 S/N M561-1XX that's within 1750 of your S/N. The closest 'JH' on the S/N list is within 1000 of your P225. What's the Proof Code on the chin of the Slide? It's gonna be close...Could go either way! Nice P225...Congrats on your acquisition! ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! Congrats! It appears that the take-down lever has scratched the frame. The result of a loose lever-shaft rivet. A modern one-piece MIM part is better. Serious about crackers.

Congrats. I wasn't really looking, but when this P225 popped-up on another forum for $550, 2 mags, box & papers, & front N/S w/ orange circle (my favorite), I promptly responded with "I'll take it". Showed-up at my FFL on Tuesday, and I shot it yesterday. I don't shoot it as well as my P220 in 9mm (my favorite), but it did alright. And will be added to my carry rotation. Watch & Pray

Very nice! My own Sig that started it all was a Sig 228, which like you I stupidly traded away. With the help of the forum and 12132, I fixed that mistake. ___________________________________________ Life Member NRA & Washington Arms Collectors Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath. M6514xx P225 and that's my first SIG. My other is a .38 Super P220 G2316xx. Magnificent pistols. I also have a P365 and P322 but they don't count, not like those two hammer pistols. ----- Support the entire Constitution, not just the parts you like. P226 and a P239, both in 9mm The 226 was a new model when it first came out, and it picked me. It was a sidearm given to me new in the IDF, obviously did not get to keep it. Made me a Sig disciple for life The 239 was the first Sig I bought, Still own it, love it, shoot it, rarely carry it anymore. was my primary carry for 10+ years. Shoots so very well, but with other 17 -18 rounders available, hard to carry it today. Maybe I will tomorrow.... The 225 is a beautiful gun, so is the 228.

I share the same story for finding the forum, but didn't actually join until 7 or 8 years later. __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

Proof code is JH, so 1987. Icarus flew too close to the sun, but at least he flew.

Definitely the first SIG I fell in love with, back in the 80s. It was on the cover of one of the catalogs I requested by mail. Never seen anything like this black, purposeful piece of Swiss/German industrial art. --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

There is definitely something about the P225. My second gun was a P6, and I actually carried it for several years. That grip just fits my hand like no other. These days I carry it's fatter sibling just due to the added capacity and ease of finding affordable mags, but it's never felt quite as good in the hand as that P6. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

When Work allowed a semi-auto I bought a very early Sig P220ST. I carried that for about 25 years. Ernest Langdon worked on it and made it a real joy to shoot. I shot IDPA with it for a few years before switching to a CZ SP01 It sure is no longer in pristine condition, but I enjoy looking at the "patina" it developed. I joined the forum about the same time I ordered the Sig.

Some of you guys took the words right out of my mouth: the P225 is the nicest looking SIG SAUER pistol. My favorite one too!

I owned a P225 in the late 90's. For me, and I don't know why, but that squared off trigger guard looked really bad ass, and aggressive. I know there are micro 9's out there that can hold double the capacity of the P225. But I have to say, that if I still lived in Massachusetts, (haven't since '99), I would have kept that P225, and added at least one more, bought up a bunch of factory mags, and carried with confidence in 2025.
