Very nice, here's my 17-2 with the grips supplied by Beltfed21, it came with rubber grips, the wood looks better. Update 1955 vintage production..

I purchased a Model 17-3 about 1974. Brand new, target hammer and trigger. It had the standard grips, but I traded them to the dealer for a set of target grips. K-22s were not easy to find then.I still have it. I have no idea how many rounds I have put thru it. That was one of my best gun purchases. You will be very happy with it. Congratulations.

Love those S&W .22's....but prefer the shorter bbl. for field carry...S&W called it the Model 18...Best regards and Merry Christmas, Rod

Wow, very nice.

I'd love to find one of those around my parts.

So come on, how many $$ did that thing set you back?

I picked up a new 17–9 back in 2021 and paid $756. At the time I wanted a 22 revolver with a 6 inch barrel, I really wanted one of the stainless steel models with the full lug, but could not find any nearby, and if I could, they were hundreds of dollars more.

One of my favorite 22 pistols to shoot always goes bang and is a tach driver.

Bought one years ago at our club, a members father had passed away and it was pretty much a fire sale. Accurate as all get out but has some pretty tight chambers, i use match .22 and no issues

Love the 17 here. I picked up a 1947 or ‘48-vintage K22 a short while back that has become a favorite. It’s great on its own at the range and even better as a warm-up when shooting centerfire DA revolvers.

Shown here with a set of period-correct Target stocks, the gun came to me with its original Magna stocks (serial-numbered to the gun).

Yes, the same with mine. The stocks shown in the photo are serial'd, and they are off one of the first Combat Magnums.

I got mine, barely used 55 years ago. That's one you will never regret. I was in the USAF. At my next base some of the security police force folks got me a couple of set of the large target type grips for it and a companion K 38. Last spring I picked up a nice little model 18-4, the Combat Masterpiece versiion, 4" barrel with ramped front sight, everything else the same. When I first saw it in a display case I thought it was the .38 special model like I qualified with back in OCS.

I found a model 18-2 a few years ago thats one of my favorites. 22 K frames always seem to put a smile on your face.

Mine is a 1948 build. Great shooting gun. The second is a gun I’m trying to figure out. It’s a 22 on a 32 frame. I think it’s called the 22/32 Heavy Frame Target.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.
