mdunn226 Legion
Hi There
New member here.
I'm planning on purchasing a P226 Legion.
(when available)
Looking at one website that has a couple different model descriptions.
One described as double action
One described as single action.
Aren't they all da/sa?
That is double action on first shot, single action on following shots?
Thanks!

19tassWelcome! No, they are not all DA/SA. There is a Legion SA model only as well.

powermadYou can get them in DA/SA and Single Action Only, with and without a Red Dot.
The SAO has a safety and can be carried cocked and locked.

mdunnSo if they say in the description “double action”
Then that must mean da/sa.?
Thanks for the replies!

FHHM213Visually, it should be obvious given the decocking lever for the DA/SA vs the thumb safety for the SAO.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen some adds in which a SAO is pictured but the description is for the DA/SA model (and vice versa).
Here is a listing with correct photos for a SAO:

So I understand with SAO you get the same trigger pull on the first shot as the following but were there other reasons you recommend the SAO?
I have a couple 1911's and have had a couple BHP's so I get it.

Mine is SAO because all I had before were 1911's and that is the action I'm wired for. Also, not a fan of the sig decocker.

I've never shot the SAO, but many here have complimented the trigger on it. I believe it's lighter on SAO than the DA/SAs single.
I'm a huge fan of my DA/SA one though.

911BossLove my SAO Sigs. Also have a DA/SA P226 and P229 but the SAO triggers are definitely better.
What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

Mdunn, I'll change my original recommendation from DA/SA to a SAO since you already have several 1911s.
I've been tempted over the past couple of years to try a Single Action Only... my reason for not is all my sigs and Ruger Semi-auto pistols have no Safety on them... I'm totally used to either DA/SA with a decock or just a plain double action only... for me I'm not sure I want to learn to have to flip a little lever down to expose that red dot before I shoot. But since you should be used to that... Go with single action only.

kidcopI carry a DA Legion on duty, but the SA ones have tempted me. I'm a 1911 guy, which policy prohibits, but it does allow the "P226" without any other descriptors, so technically....
Yeah, I'm a pain in the ass to supervise.
