I am a big G43 fan, so far unable to transition to a Sig 365. Now that bigger brothers are out in black, was going to add a G48, and create my own G43X and G43L. Questions: 1) The G43X and 48 have the newer Marksman barrels? Do my G43's? And do you notice a difference? 2) Is the trigger on the 43X and 48 different and any better than the 43? TIA.

I can only answer #2 with my opinion. I don’t notice much difference in the triggers, if anything my 48 trigger is a bit smoother. I replace my serrated triggers with smooth ones.

I'm mainly a G19, G23 guy but I love my G48. According to Glock both the 43X and 48 come with the Glock Marksman barrel.

Thank you. That's what I was kind of figuring...

I know it's a little apples and oranges, and different variables between the two, but can you tell any improvement in accuracy with your G48 vs G19?

The 43/48x have the gen 5 firing pin block design and I don't remember the 43 having that. IMO the x's triggers smooth up quicker. I shoot the 43x much more accurately than the 43 but it's likely a combo of things like grip length and barrel. Joe Back in Tx.

My apple G48 shoots very well. Haven't made any comparison with other orange or banana models. I noticed that it has a recessed crown on the barrel muzzle. I don't recall seeing that on other models.

When I got my G43 originally, it had a heavy trigger. I tried a ghost connector and then the Glock minus connector, which was a considerable improvement. I didn't like the serrated trigger, and replaced it with a Precision Overwatch falx. On the G43X and G48, I replaced the trigger shoe with Vickers flat triggers, to get rid of the serrations, using the factory trigger bar. As the 48 came from the factory, I thought the trigger was as poor as the original G43: I didn't care for it at all. It's a bit better, but could still use some help.

You dig |
I’ve carried the 43 for a long time, bought the 48 so I could have whatever option I want. I’ve found myself to shoot the 43 just as well as the 48 or my self created 43X. I like the grip the longer grip but found it really pokes at my shirt making concealment difficult. Haven’t noticed much trigger difference. I’m probably gonna go back to carrying the 43 as designed.

Thank you all for the replies. I think the general sentiment that there will be no difference in trigger or accuracy between the 43 and the 48 / 43X will turn out to be right. And I suspect I will stick with my G43's. But... Couldn't help myself... Just bought a G 48 to go into seven day jail, and shoot soon.

You'll like your G48. You might as well buy a bunch of magazines for it, as you'll want a G43X soon enough, and it shares the same mag as the G48. If you think about it. a G48 is nothing more than a slim G19, just like a G43 is a slim G26. The G43X is the odd one, more like a slim G19 with slim G26 slide. I carry my G43 in a DeSantis pocket holster. I found that the G43X rides well in the same pocket holster, albeit not quite as well. It works with the right pockets. The G48 really deserves waistband carry, and there's a limited selection of holsters out there for that, yet. All the same, it's hard not to really like the G48.

Isn't this the truth!? I like carrying my 43 slide on 48 frame but the 48 is hard not to like. Great shooter!

Thanks all for the well wishes. As much as the smaller grips on the 48 / 43X / 43 series, I find the thinner slide very appealing (and somewhat unGlocklike). Yes, got six extra G48 mags on Brownells special many months ago, long before Maryland even approved it for sale. Ordered Talon granulate grips today. Planning on decent sights and front night sight, and a Ghost connector next weekend. But I bet I'll drift back to the G43 and invest in Taran Tacticals. I went to the range today to shoot just a Cajunized P-01 and a Cajunized steel PCR, and a Sig 365. But, as always, I couldn't resist, and ended off with a few magazi nes through a G43.

For real? |
The 43 and 43X use the same barrels, correct? Brownells is having a sale on threaded 43 barrels. Anyone suppress their 43 or 43X? Not even sure why I was thinking of suppressing one. Not minority enough!

The 48 is more accurate than the 19 to me. I have small hands, easier to get a good index on the smaller grip. This is purely a personal issue however.

I sold my 43 and purchased a 43X when they started selling them with the factory black slide rather than the shiny one. I get a more comfortable grip on the longer 43X and it seem to help with my shooting. It is just a bit longer than the 43 and, yes, I do notice it tries to "print" more than the 43. But, regardless, I love the gun. Bob

That rug really tied the room together. |
I own a 43X because I'm a Glock fanboy. I don't know why I own it, as it serves absolutely no purpose for me at all. I still prefer the G26 if I want to carry 10 rounds. ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow
