Saw this funky hammer on one in an LGS today.... https://laststandonzombieislan...6/p6-note-hammer.jpg " According to West German police code, the funny looking hook is a Deformationssporn, which means, “deformation spur.” This was a requirement of the West German Police for all their pistols, regardless of manufacturer, to alert police armorers if the pistol was dropped on its hammer. Explanation excerpted from here: " https://laststandonzombieislan...e-dead-with-a-twist/ The same article says they were designed with atrociously heavy trigger pull weights, vs. the commercial version. This example was a beast, in both DA and SA. It didn't look to have TOO much wear 'n tear, and it was tagged at $437.

Yes, that's normal on all P6s, the hooked hammer and the fifty-pound DA pull. Lol. Q

$437? If it had a couple mags, I might jump. The trigger pull can be fixed. Hollow points not feeding in it can be an issue. Also fixable. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

If I came across a P6 in decent condition for $437, it would be coming home with me. That's only a few dollars more than I paid for mine 12 or 13 years ago. The mainspring can be swapped out for a standard P225 spring in order to lighten the pull while maintaining reliable ignition. The P225 is a very ergonomic design that carries very nicely...they're truly great guns.

Here are my 2 I picked up this summer. I'd jump on it at $437. I paid slightly more for mine. 67 Goat's P6s

My P-6 had a nice refinish when I bought it. The grips are from grips4u (Illinois). I replaced the main and recoil spring with stock P225 springs. It seems to feed all hp ammo I have run through it even though the feed ramp is unmodified. I got it with 3 original magazines along with two ProMags that work perfectly. I found three NOS mags for a P225 at a police supply gun store (they claimed they never new what they were for). Trooper Joe

VictorLouis at $437 I wouldn't expect that P-6 to sit very long at the LGS, well below what they sell for on the auction site. As said heavy trigger pull easy/cheap enough to remedy. No doubt well maintained by German police armorers. Reputation for being very accurate/reliable and with slim single stack profile excellent for concealed carry.

Love the P6, I got one for $350 decades ago, and honestly the long DA pull for me doesn't feel that bad maybe it was used well I suppose. It and the classic P225 are probably my favorite SIGs comparing to P220, P6/P225, P226, P227, P228, P229, P239, SP2022, P250SC, P290RS, P238 (have had all those in the past so somewhat long list to compare to) P6/P225 feels great in my hands, and the accuracy for me is as good as any full size. A P6 for $437 is not a bad price. I'd make sure to field strip it. Give it a look at everything first just to see what the barrel smiley, frame rails, overall condition look like etc.
