I have a P229 SAS 9mm, 13 round frame, and I have gotten to the point where I would like an optic for it. Rather than cut the original slide, would this slide work on the frame I have. I have researched it but I am not clear as to the answer. Thanks.

Since your P229 is Legacy (short extractor, half height slide serrations), you will also need the 229-1 barrel for the OR slide above that has the long external extractor. The original barrel will not work with the new slide.
