I think the best load for the j are the 38+p 124 gr HST bullets. I believe it's a Hornady bullet, but I think Fiocchi loads the HST in a factory box of 50 as well. The HST is an older jacketed design, but its flowering is limited, thus better penetration compared to more aggressive flowering designs, something 38 spc rounds typically lack. The previous poster with the old lead HP FBI 158 gr loads, they are good, but they kick like a mule in in the aluminum Js, which isn't the point if you can hit your target.

No J frame. However, I own a Colt D frame Agent that I carried for years in a pocket holster. Brilliant carry gun. Six rounds. One pounded loaded with original factory shroud and T-grip adapter. I am going to start packing it again. I miss having in a pocket about town.

I carry a Ruger LCR on occasion when something larger isn't practical.
Not crazy about shooting the gun but it's better than nothing.
It's very easy to carry.

lawboy I have to overwhelmingly agree the Colt Agent is the perfect pocket 38 snub revolver with the factory shroud and Tyler T Grip, on my short list.

I have a Smith 642 that is in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster that I'll grab if I'm going to my building's basement to do laundry or walking down the block to the store. I also have a nice 37-2 that was my companion on many days. It now sleeps in my safe. Oh, and both of these, and all of my other Smith wheelguns don't have the idiot lock.

I carry this little guy, a model 340 in .357, quite often in either a pocket holster or appendix iwb. I load it with Federal HST 125 grain, and carry a speed strip in the coin pocket of my jeans.

I'd semi retired my 360J for a p365 for pocket carry, but the P365 tends to keep pulling my pants down Smile For the last couple weeks, the 360J came out of the safe and has taken it's place in my pocket as my primary carry again.

If I expect trouble, I don't go. If I expect trouble here at home, I drag out my 12 ga double. Then I hide here with my friend, the 12 ga, waiting. That happens, well damn near never and I like it that way.

I’ve had a similar experience & done the same thing but with a bobbed hammer 637 Airweight. I’ve also had some fun swapping between various grips for it.
