I have two P226 mags: one is the marked for 9mm & 20rds. The other is marked for 40S&W/357SIG & 15rds. On close inspection, I can't see any differences between the two. Both will hold 20rds of 9mm. Both will hold 15rds of 40S&W. The followers and dimensions of the feed lips, bodies, etc all appear identical. I didn't try shooting it, but the 40/357 mag fed 9mm ammo through my P226 w/o a hitch when I manually cycled it. I don't have a P226 in .40 to try the same w/ 20rd 9mm mag loaded w/ .40. Both mags are SIG OEM made in USA. Other than markings, are they identical as I suspect? Is there any danger is using the 40/357 mag for 9mm?

There is no danger, other than possible failure to feed consistently. Keep in mind, though, hand cycling is far different from firing, and won't tell you as much.

If it’s the old school 20 round 9mm mag, you can sell that for a premium and get the mags you need. Those SWAT mags are worth good money

All SWAT mags were made in Germany, weren't they? The mags I described are made in USA, presumably under contract by Checkmate.

About the 20-rounders: "SWAT" mags are German made. USA made mags are Checkmate. Italian made mags are Mec-Gar. Promag and other garbage don't count. Q
