ChowserMec Gar now making Glock mags
Not seeing it much anywhere other than at arf.
Mecgar announces 9mm Glock magazines.
18rd flush fit for the 17/34/45 and
18rd mags for the 19.
If anyone has more info, that'd be great!

12131How do they address the issue of the slot of the metal mag body interaction with the plastic mag catch?
Shield Arms makes the metal mag catch to replace the factory one, for their S15 mag for the G43X.

Nick BIs there really a need ? Factory Glock mags are everywhere and relatively cheap .

VgexFrom the picture, the mag possibly has a divot stamped in the mag, as opposed to a cut in the magazine, like their traditional design.

cslingerIf you look in the background it says full metal construction no mag catch replaced.
Mecgar does poop the bed occasionally but it’s RARE. What I do find odd is why the G17 mag?? For example. Big deal I get 1 more round, after 17 which is already a ton of ammo. They need to throw in with the 43x/48 wars and put something there even if it’s “only“ a 12 or 13 rounder.

Mec-Gar has the need.
One thing's for sure- the floorplates will be much easier to remove.

MacGyverThat indentation is a very good idea, but I’ll admit I’m struggling to see a need for this. Aside from the slimline models, Glocks have never once left me wanting for more capacity.

True, but several of my Glock mags won't drop free, which is a PITA for me. I welcome additional options, particularly non-plastic ones.

Who says they won't? If I was Mec Gar, I'd try and make sure I got the basics right before trying to journey into unknown waters, and if their mag catch solution works, I could see a lot of Glock clones ditch Magpul for Mec Gars, especially if they drop free.

AnubismpI think this might most benefit their slimline guns or the 26 if they made them metal as they would get competitive capacity ala shield and PSA but for the 43 or 26.

MacGyver^^^Even if nothing else, that indentation design will make it so that G43X/G48 users don’t have to swap out the mag catch, unlike the Shield Arms solution. Maybe they’ll make something similar for the G43.

VoshterkoffI would go for some 43x/48 mags.

patwI agree with you guys, as this seems a little too late for any benefit and the larger framed Glock mags already have the capacity.
I guess they might be doing it for the guns/ppc/carbines that take Glock mags and already have metal mag releases, possibly.

monoblokMagazines that dent for my Glocks. How novel. Yet another destructible magazine for the Glock world.

Have you noted any issues with your Beretta or SIG or CZ mags denting?

Yes. More options is better than fewer. I, for one, welcome this. I may not ever buy any, but that is immaterial.

I agree, what a novel thing to nit-pick. I have Mec Gar magazines for my Berettas and Sig and they hit the ground plenty. Never noticed a dent.

bionic218Yeah, yeah, no need, might dent...Imma buy one.

I think more is better.
Side quest...how long until somebody makes a +2 plate for it?

Austin228Honestly, Mec-Gar usually makes good products, I wish they made more magazines for almost all models of guns I can think of as long as they retain their quality.

So I only shoot Shadow Systems guns. I train with, and carry nothing but MagPul magazines with full confidence. That said I'm intrigued by these Mac-Gar offerings.
