looks like my dominate eye is not healing so well and I can no longer see the front site or worse yet my red or yellow dot optics.

I need to switch to a laser with a light like the surefire 400 ultra so what leather holster do you recommend? right handed forward cant with a highside on the body side to prevent the backstrap from scraping against my side.what is softer cow hide, horse hide or something better?

I prefer a natural color as I mark of chairs and seats with my current black leather holster I currently have

Your need is unique. Please consider contacting the recommended holster smiths in many threads. They can mold to your actual weapon configuration at a custom holster cost.

Consider big fanny pack. Eberlestock.

Also please consider a grip-mount laser. Crimson Trace LG-429. No holster change required.

looking for some names of actual holster manufactures,

I used a fanny pack for years with a P220 and it was not my favorite means of carry.
I have had some optic nerve damage in my dominate eye dur to eye surgery so using a good laser really helps plus the light helps when you hear things in the dark

Try MTR custom leather.

Also try a green "dot" optic.

Hope this helps.

Hi. You know that a frame mounted laser will be as bad as your aged eye, just like me.

Try to find one of Laserlyte RSL (Rear Sight Laser) on eBay to fit your firearm, or do like I did: Rear Sight dovetail based RMR plate + RMR2PICATINNY then you get a Rear Sight Laser mount where you can put a subcompact laser (Laserlyte FSL-3) or the like.

See pic below,

If your P229 is optic ready then you can directly mount an RMR2PICATINNY and mount a subcompact laser or a subcompact laser/light combo on it.

But if you insist on your X400, check FALCO out overseas at
