Recently picked up a p365 and all the magazines are made in Italy, however magazines being sold at the store and web say they are made in USA, are there differences between the two?
Pretty sure SIG has 2 major sub contractors for mags. Mec-Gar in Italy and Checkmate here in the States.
While most folks, including myself, would prefer Mec-Gar as their reputation across the board is pretty impeccable, I don’t believe there have been any major issues with Checkmate with SIG at all. As a matter of fact I believe the much maligned 14 round P227 mag from sometime back was Mec-Gar.
Long story short you should be good to go either way.

The finish is different, at least with mine. The Italy mag is a highly polished blue, the USA mags have more of a phosphate finish. Both work fine, the USA mags show a little more wear.

No way would sig contract with Promag. I can concur that the USA mags are checkmate and I’m pretty ho hum on them. I’ll take a made in Italy Mecgar every time. If I own examples of both my made in Italy mags are carry mags while the USA mags are range mags. This message has been edited. Last edited by: bubbatime,

So I picked up 2 extra sig labeled magazines from the store and they say USA on them. Like others said here they are not as shiny as the ones that came with the gun that are made in Italy and the machining is not as nice. Will find out if they function well which I suspect they will. For $50 a mag , I rather find the made in Italy ones.
