I'll never own another Kimber. I had one I bought new that would lock the slide back before loading the last round. Their CS was the biggest bunch of a-holes I have dealt with in the gun industry.

I'd avoid any handgun manuf. whose customer service personnel respond to malfunction issue with, "run 200-300 rounds through it then call us back." At today's prices, that's some pretty serious cash. Kimber's 1911's are marketed as defensive CC weapons...in my view, how would you ever trust the piece if you had that number of rounds down range with malfunctions.

For any defensive gun, IMHO, it ought to work ~100% right out of the box. I'd accept a less than stelar trigger that'll improve with use, but the gun should function well. My suggestion to Lord V. is to find a 1911 manuf. that has a history of a good product & offers good reliable CS...and I'd also suggest to Kimber to cut their advertising budget and spend more time on QC. My take: they make pretty guns that don't live up to the bling.

Lastly, four friends, over the years, who brought their brand new Kimbers out here to our farm range, had multiple problems of the FTE, FTFeed variety. And all were told to burn up another 200-300 rounds before the factory would entertain fixing them. YMMv, Good Luck Rod

I have a Desert Warrior and Custom II Two-tone and both are accurate and functioned right out of the box. Both are from 2015.
