I know...without pix it didn't happen. But it really did! A nice P220 Sport N (second Gen) has been sitting at my lgs for months. So, after getting back into the brand a few weeks back, it came home with me yesterday. Had both the case and cardboard box, and an extra pair of non SIG mags. It's wearing the walnut grips, so I'm not sure if those replaced the plastic ones at some point. Not sure what all the option letters on the box mean yet. And, all the serial numbers match. I never thought about that being a "thing" until some research on these. Needless to say, it's the nicest of my little SIG collection. Now I need a new host for pictures....

IMGUR.com works nicely.

Mind if I ask what you spent? I got one last year and probably spent too much at $2k as they tend to go for about 4-500 less on GB

Well, it was listed originally at 1150...I was a bit under that. A good deal even for a second edition version. I think most lookers didn't realize what it was. Smile

Yeah...that's what I thought. It's a beautiful gun with some level of exclusivity. And a nice addition to the little SIG family of mine.

Congratulations on the new addition

The -N indicates it left SIG with the logo Nills grips like this one

Thanks for the additional info. I'm still trying to learn what I can about it. The box also shows SL and BT as descriptions.

Guess I should have been able to figure that out! It seems much like an American Elite with the addition of the adjustable sights. And of course theoretically much tighter build specs.

Assuming it looks like the image Colt_saa provided, I am guessing Gen2 then did not include the comp with extended front site?
Were the Sport models given anything extra in terms of fit/finish, other?

Cant wait to see pics.

It's exactly as the pix that were posted. Correct, no comp on the second edition.

Second Edition had some variants, the Nills or Plastic if I recall correctly.

Some had assembly issues / mis-matched barrels but in general were nice pistols.

One run of them were done with Nill grips hence the N-Sport, another run was done with black plastic grips with Sig doing a giveaway of one of them. The giveaway claimed there were 500 pcs made. Serial number range is roughly 2000 units apart with the black grip being the lower number.

Nice! You got a good gun for a good price.

A local gun store had a P226 Allround that I couldn't resist. When I asked, it had been there for over four months.

I am a fan of the second generation over the first personally.

I hope it treats you well, it is a fine looking P-220.

What's the actual serial number span for these models? Would just be interesting to know where mine falls in line. And thanks to everyone for some great info!

Thanks to everyone for the info. It's a great looking gun...and I'd say is at the top of the heap of my little SIG collection. I did pick up a circa 2013 P227 this week. Like new condition with two 10 round mags, box etc...though it has the extended grips to cover the 14 round mags...so a quick order to MGW for shorter stock grips was made. Smile
