Hey All, I have a P365 and am considering upping the capacity to 12 rounds (I'm currently using standard 10 round mags). My question is how much different does the XL frame module feel vs. the 12 round mag with the extension in a standard P365? Are they pretty much apples to apples, or does the actual longer grip and the beavertail on the XL seem to make a big difference in feel? Thanks! ______________________________________________________ My Amateur Blog: http://martowski.wordpress.com/

To me there's a big difference in feel due to the flared magwell on the XL. Some like the XL, some like the 12 rnd extension... I'd say try both and see what you prefer.

After trying both, I strongly prefer the XL grip. The larger beavertail on the XL grip helps guys with big hands like me. The downside is that the XL grip is too big for pocket carry. So you can either make do with the smaller beavertail and retain the ability to have a smaller pocketable grip length with 10 round magazines, or otherwise go with the XL if you don't plan to pocket carry it.

IMO adding the XL Grip Module to the std P365 is without question, the ultimate configuration for the P365. While workable, the 12 rd Mags w/ the extended 'pinky rest' just seem like a compromise, and scream X-Grip to me. The XL Grip is solid and all there for me...Superior in all respects as far as I'm concerned. I had handled a P365 back when it was first launched and dismissed it out of hand as being as too small. I require my pinky to actually be 'on the gun', especially for CCW, and I see no other real purpose for the P365 otherwise. When the P365XL was launched, I was unaware it had a different Grip Module, so assuming it was just a P365 w/ a longer slide/barrel, I never gave it any consideration. It was not until the BLM/Antifa Riots were in full swing over the summer, and I was looking to build an ideal P320 configuration for my wife to carry that I had my P365 epiphany. I was chatting with a Sig Sauer employee / friend on the topic and he recommended the P365. He showed me his 'P365-X' variant w/ the XL Grip Module, and after handling & dry firing it, I was converted. It's a completely different gun, and it eliminated all of my preconceptions about the P365. A few days later, I was on a quest to purchase one....And if my wife starts carrying it, I'm gonna need another one! ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! I am all in on the P365X. I switched out the grip module on my p365 to and XL frame and had a flat trigger installed last year. It is Much more pleasant to shoot with three fingers on the grip, however I think the flat trigger makes a big difference. And now Sig offers this configuration. Great move.

My LGS has deep stock of all the 365 models, so when I decided to join the Sig world I got to handle each one for fit and trigger finger placement. I had a hard time deciding between the 365X and the 365XL. The 365XL went home with me. I picked up a RomeoZero at a deep discount, and after installing it, I can't be happier about this as my new CCW. Old, stubborn, heavily armed.

An analogy for the 365 to the 365 XL is like the Colt Officers vs Commander. An Officer grip is 3 fingers. A Commander grip is 4 fingers. The 365 XL feels better in your hand. Beavertail and more surface area to make contact with your hand makes the 365 XL a better "fit".

Each has its pros/cons. XL Pros: solid full length grip with beavertail and flared magwell. Magazine changes are easier with the full-length grip. Cons: does not offer concealment of the 365/10rd grip, beavertail may dig into your gut and the magwell might print. 365 w/extension Pros: offers the option of using the 10rd mag for concealment, flat beavertail is more comfortable to carry (AIWB) Cons: grip does not feel as solid as full-length and can be difficult for mags to drop free on mag change...and goofy aesthetics if that matters. I bought the P365 for those occasions where my clothing won't hide a VP9SK. Still very concealable with the 12rd mag but with the 10rd mag it pretty much disappears. On these days I won't carry an extra mag so the speedy mag changes are moot

I’m a much bigger fan of the 365xl grip on the 365 slide than just adding a 12 round mag to the 365. I actually bought the XL to swap slides with my 365 and make a 365L, but the gun didn’t balance well at all in my hand and I realized how much I liked the 365x instead. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

I pocket carry the P365, with a grayguns P365 grip module. I use either the 10 rd. magazine with the finger extension, or the 12 round magazine; either works just fine. I carry 15 round magazines as spare, usually one on each side. The P365 grip module works best for me, in a DeSantis pocket holster.

I just bought a XL module a few days ago to put it on my P365. I like the feel of the larger module better after handling a XL model.

I’ve said it a 100 times on here but if you look at everyone who mods their P365 they try and turn it into the XL.

+1 on the P365XL. I had a P365 and didn't see the point of the P365XL until I shot it. The numbers don't do it justice to how much of a difference the grip makes. I'd do a P365XL grip and try it out. Osage had them and I think they're still commonly available.
