After test firing many different firearms and different calibers, my daughter finally decided on her first firearm. She chose a Glock 48 to carry and placed her order last night. She should receive it Monday. I bought her a few different boxes of duty/self defense ammo for her to try out and will order a holster when they are available. I'm proud of her Smile

Not as of yet. High capacity mags are not outlawed. This is one of the primary reasons to buy the 48. For me, I should be able to buy as much as I like and the mags should be grandfathered. I'm looking at getting the 45, but it hasn't been approved by the department. When it is, my daughter will get my duty 19, which has night sights, 15 round mags and the smooth faced trigger already installed.

Congrats to you and your daughter. Sounds like she took her time to pick out a gun.

you did not state her age,
but like all new gun carriers
please make her aware of her responsibility of keeping it out of the hands of others.

My daughter is 22 and about to turn 23 in February. She completed her CCW classes last year and wanted to test fire as many firearms as possible. The G48 is a perfect match for her hands and capacity is also right IF a ban of high capacity magazines are implemented. I'm happy for her and have also told her not to make the same mistakes I have by selling firearms. I said that this would be the first of many and when holsters are made for it, she'll have a drawer full of them Smile
