Thanks for the info & a VERY nice choice...but that model was built LONG after U.S. SIG manufacturing began, despite its apparent German build.

Oh, just the frame is from Germany. Frames being built in Germany were available in other Sigs too. My 220 and 229 say the same thing on them. (However they are both stainless steel.)
