Alternate WC Grip Module Size for a P320 X5 Legion? Login/Join

Saturday I picked up my first P320 as an impulse buy at the SIG Academy - an X5 Legion. I’m toying around with picking up a Wilson Combat grip module as an alternate for when I don’t want the extra weight and mag funnel of the TXG grip module.

What is the closest size in the WC range to the original grip module - full size or carry? Also, would the 17 round mags I already have work with either of these? I don’t want to get into an extended magazine situation.

I’m guessing the full size, but thought it best to ask first. Thanks!

Full size.

You can take the funnel off the TXG grip. You don't have to run the TXG grip module with the funnel attached.

The Wilson grip module is more carry friendly, I think. I do like the TXG grip module, though.

Thank you for confirming. I’d like to try the lighter weight that would result from the WC grip frame with weights.

You can also remove the grip weight inside the TXG grip module. Or consider getting the original non TXG X5 grip. Its identical except black color and not tungsten infused. It also has a grip weight and removeable magwell.

Any full size x-grip module will work, or the original grip, or the Wilson grip.

The only difference between the Carry Grip and the Full Size is how long you want your rail. Both of those will work.

The dust cover on the Carry won’t be too short and expose recoil spring? I don’t have a good grasp of the various dimensions on the P320 series.

I just built a ZEV X5 on a Wilson Full Sized frame with the 3 tungsten weights. It's not as heavy as a Legion, but it's good. Just got the Dawson sights on it and now I need to try it out.

I built an X5 with a Grayguns Carry grip module, and it works & looks great.

The the full size grip module dust cover will be flush with the front of the slide.

The carry module dust cover will be a bit shorter, but is long enough. The slide protrudes a bit past the dust cover, but the spring is not exposed.

Carry and Compact grip modules (both Wilson Combat and Sig Factory grips) work just fine with the Full Size slide. The slide protrudes past the end of the grip module's rail, but the recoil spring is not exposed.

The reason I was asking is because I believe the X5 Legion slide is a bit longer than the full size (5” vs. 4.7”) and was curious if the Carry group module dust cover might be too short for this specific use. @LMLarsen above indicates the Carry does work for his X5 Legion.

I finally tried the right search terms and found a pic on Reddit showing an X5 slide on a WC Carry grip module. It looks like a practical option; ordered.

Thanks for all of the help, guys!

I don’t, but it looks like the project is moving forward.
