P226 - Incorrect recoil spring? Login/Join

I just posted a thread on my Bar-Sto 357SIG -> 9mm conversion: https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0601935/m/8010051115

Here's my issue: I test fired the gun yesterday and it consistently jambed after about 15 shots. Also, it occasionally failed to leave the slide locked open after the final bullet.

I ordered a 16lb recoil spring, but when I returned from the range, I noticed that the packaging was for a "reduced power" 14lb spring. I was using the inexpensive Magtech ammo that many fellow shooters use at the range.

Any thoughts? Is the recoil spring the obvious suspect? I specifically ordered the 16lb because that was what supposedly comes on a factory 9mm P226.

Your Bar-sto may need additional fitting. I installed one of their drop-in barrels in my P229, and couldn't even cycle the slide. So I sent everything in for fitting. It would then cycle fine on the bench, but at the range I would get a jam as soon as the barrel got the tiniest layer of blowback.

I decided the extra accuracy wasn't worth the risk on a potential self-defense weapon, so went back to the factory barrel. Yes, I could have gone for a second round of fitting, but still decided I needed more of a safety margin anyway.
