Hi all was looking for advice and possible pictures on wood grips for my 230SL. Definitely looking for a set for my gun . I know hogue makes them and was leaning towards them just looking for some advice. Thanks in advance

Yes the rosewood is a custom order that's why I was hoping someone had them to see before I order them lol . I know the rosewood looks good on other stainless models so I will order anyway but it's always nice to see before.

Take a look at these. I bought ones with the beavertail that extends about 1mm past the frame. No slide bite with hight grip.

I looked at that place has really nice stuff just have to wait like 10 to 12 weeks from what I've heard. They come from Hungary but might be worth the wait . Thanks for the heads up.

Marschal makes really nice grips in a choice of stains and woods.

Dennis Marschal used to be an active member here. Years ago he had some fitment issues with his P6/225 grips. I sent him a set of factory grips to help him get a few issues corrected. He is/was an outstanding person so while the wait may be long they are an ok alternative. I still prefer Hogue products over his. Think Hogue uses a better wood that results in a better looking product. If slide bite is an issue for you the Marschals will help in that area.
I personally never had an issue with slide bit but a good friend and shooting buddy could look at a P230 and start bleeding. It would get him bad every time he shot one.
The best looking wood grips IMO are the nills. At one time nills made a run for Sig with Sig Sauer on them. Have had a few sets over the years but always ended up selling them off here. You might try a WTB for a set on here. They are around but pricy. Had them on a P230SL and they were sharp looking. IMO the factory black checkered grips look great.

I agree with everything Mustang just wrote here especially the fact that the Nills are superior. Also take note that Marschal grips might have "fitment" issues. When I purchased some Marschal grips for a Bersa 380 I had to do some extensive fitting which didn't sit well with me considering the cost and wait time. I complained and was told by their CS that it was standard to have to perform some custom fitting. I go to Hogue before I consider other grips.

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it. I do like the black factory grips but there something about rosewood grips on a stainless gun .I probably will go the Hogue route I have plenty of G10s from them and really like them I'm sure the wood grips will be just as good . Thanks again

Some models we have low minimums on hand. This happens to be one of them.
I can say, today we do have a smooth grip on hand that we can add the checkering pretty quickly.
So if interested, get your order in and we can push it thru and out the door for you
