Hello everyone, this is my first post so here goes.

I was taking apart my P250 .45 Auto and I sprayed some WD40 because the FCU was stuck in the grip.
I got it out, but the trigger bar and trigger popped off. I put them back as I've seen many people do, and there is a big malfunction now.

It's difficult to describe but here goes: The trigger bar does not catch on the underside of the hammer and therefore the hammer does not get cocked.

This shows the trigger bar slipping and the hammer failing to go back.

I thought maybe there was too much lubrication but I cleaned it off and the problem persists. It seems like everything is too loose. I feel like there should be something to lock the bar into the hammer but it seems like it uses friction and a small notch.

Does the trigger spring need to be replaced?

I'm really getting frustrated. Please help Smile
Thank you!

The hook on the trigger bar isn't engaged properly into the hammer.

I think that the trigger and hammer both have to be fully to the rear to get that hook engaged properly into the hammer.

I'm thinking your trigger return spring is broken, bent, or not installed correctly. If you could send a picture of the fire control assembly removed, I can tell you if it is set correctly.

The problem your video is showing is cause by that spring being an issue, or the trigger bar tab that operates the trigger being broken.

Very odd.
Looks like the trigger is returning as expected but the trigger bar doesn't engage the hammer.
I agree with TEXASPOFF . . . is it possible to get a picture or video of the FCU out of the grip?
Especially the back end of the trigger bar where it engages the safety lever/hammer?

I took a P250 fcu and reproduced the problem.

Then I put it back together correctly again.

As I described above.

Or maybe its aliens. Razz

Thank you so much for the responses! I truly appreciate it.

Regarding Some Shot’s answer, I think that I’ve tried that although I will definitely try again tomorrow morning. The strange thing is that all the tutorials I have seen and videos on YouTube do not show any special manipulation of the trigger or hammer before installing the spring and bar. Skip to around 4 minutes

All other videos show the same lack of hammer movement when installing the spring.

It seems like the tab is just supposed to fall into place resting under the hammer (in front of a notch that it’s supposed to catch on).

I will definitely send some more pictures if need be, but here are some of the bar itself. I made an album just so I kind add pictures as needed and it will all be under the same link.

My best theory right now is that a small piece of the tab has somehow?? broken off and it is now too short to reach the notch in the hammer. The tab that engages the hammer cannot be pushed closer into the cavity. If I could move it just about 1 mm lower, the tab would most likely hit the notch.
Either that or the spring isn’t strong enough, although I don’t see why that would happen all of a sudden.

I contacted Sig Support but they have not responded so far. Thank you to everyone for being so helpful!
