I have a PPS Classic and a PPS M2, both in 9mm. I loved the M1 and shot it lights-out for several years. Never worried about the backstrap because I wrapped it with a Talon. When I bought the M1 my primary double stack carry was a pair of P2000SKs, 9mm and .357SIG. So the paddle releases of the Walther were right in keeping with my training. But in late 2015 I switched the primary to a pair of P320s in 9mm and .357, and found that every time I went back and forth at the range from Walther to SIG I screwed up the quick mag changes because of reaching for the wrong button. About that time the M2 hit the shelves so I bought one. If anything I like it slightly better than the M1. But if I started carrying a double stack Walther or HK with the paddle release again and needed to go back to the PPS M1 to match it, I would have absolutely no qualms about that. Love that pistol.

Ditto the above! Don't like anything about the 290, and I do have several Sigs. Love the Walther PPS M2 I own. "Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die." Joe Louis
