How much cant to your pistol do you prefer?
In this case I'm talking about strong side hip carry. Do you prefer 0 degrees, 10 degrees, 20 degrees? Or some other degree of cant?

I prefer a negative 5 to 10 degree cant. It is a more natural draw.

About 15 degrees. I like a fairly strong forward cant.

For conceal carry, 10 if the gun will hide.

I prefer a strong forward cant, also, whether IWB or OWB. I admit that I don’t know the exact degree of the cant, however…call it 15 or 20.

Depends if it’s around the yard or concealed.

Concealed it’s at about 4:30 and a 10-15 can’t works well.

If it’s just in my hip in Kayden then straight draw because it’s right at 3:00.

I prefer my pistols to have lots of "can" and absolutely no "can't". I couldn't resist.

BUT, to really answer your question, if appendix, 0 degrees, if ICW at hip (at about 4 0'clock just behind hip), about 15-20 degrees. If OWB (just a bit less than 3 0'clock) maybe 10 degrees?

Zero. Why? My duty holster was not canted and since I wear my artillery at 3 oclock, in the same position as my duty rig, I want to use muscle memory on the draw.

I carry at about 4:30-5:00 and prefer 10-15 degrees of cant on my OWBs. My primary CCW is a P365 w/ an XL frame which is carried in a Milt Sparks Criterion which has more cant (20-25 degrees) which allows for a full grip presentation. Most of my other CCW guns ride in Milt Sparks VM-II holsters which are somewhere between 18-20 degrees.

My primary EDC holster is a Kramer horsehide OWB belt scabbard at the 3:30 - 4:00 position. Whatever the cant is on that holster, is my preferred cant.

OWB or IWB?

IWB, 10-15 probably.
OWB, open carry, 0-10

Straight drop for me. Just what I’m used to. I have had some canted holsters in the past and felt they made my draw awkward. YMMV.

15-20 degrees IWB at 4:00. Tucks the butt of the grip in against my back and makes it conceal much better.

Just went through this (with revolvers,) seems I have a natural cant when I draw... I drew quickest with 0.

I thought this was a thread about how much we tilt our pistol to the side when busting a cap. I prefer a full 90 degrees Smile

I think zero cant feels more natural for me, but a strong forward can't seems to conceal the butt of my pistol easier.

I like straight or a touch of forward cant.

I've tried to stop carrying at the 4:00 position, it just seems a bit slower to draw from than other positions from IWB (in Florida, with few exceptions, we don't carry openly and it's usually too warm for a covering garment over an OWB set up for me).

I've been trying to carry appendix or just back from that at 2-3 o'clock and, with appendix I like it either straight or just a bit reversed, maybe 10 degrees. At 2-3 o'clock, straight.

So far, slight to no cant depending on whether it's just behind or on 3:00.

Depends on barrel length of what I'm carrying. Typically, it's a 2 1/2" 66-1. I wear it at about 5 o'clock with a 15–20-degree cant. If it's full size 1911 day, it's @ 3 o'clock with a straight drop. A 4" revolver around the homestead is also straight drop. Bear country is a 5" 44 mag cross draw with neg 20 degrees (belt knife is on the strong side)
