Ok, so as I mentioned on the other thread I screwed up my appointment time so I went over to LGS to look around. I’ve been on the lookout for the SA Hellion and this gun. Well they had a couple of these so I brought one home. 1199. Kind of pricy in my mind but this one has been teasing me since I first read about it. Looking at my pictures you can tell it ain’t gold. As it came the TiN coating was a very shiny gold, especially on the barrel. I could have lived with it but since these are modular you don’t have to live with anything. So I pulled apart a couple of my guns and started experimenting and to my eye this was the most pleasing combo. Slide cuts work well with coated barrels so I went with a robbed silver coated True Precision barrel. The TXG grip from Sig is shameful. Let me back up. It feels better in the hand than a stock grip module which I find lacking in grip texture. So functionally it works well. It also looks like hammered shit. I have done a bunch of homebrew stipple jobs on my 320’s and one Glock. My work towards the end is better looking than Sig’s Custom Works laser engraving. Sig Custom Works needs to up their game or cry uncle and just use Wilson Combat or Grayguns custom modules which are both waaaaaaaay better than this Sig nonsense. Swapping a black fcu with flat trigger was easy and looks way better. The odd thing is that I own some custom works fcu’s and the TiN coating is nice looking on those. I still don’t think it serves much of a purpose but the coating is a matte gold that I actually like. On this gun it’s all shiny TiN which I find off putting. So no Sigs were harmed in this process. All parts ended up on a complete gun. It did create a couple visually uglier Sig 365’s but it also created one really expensive, really good looking (to me), 365 Spectre Comp XL which is way too much of a mouthful to type very often. I will add some pictures of the stock parts I didn’t like if anybody is interested. Range report to follow. Disclosure: all my 365’s have been boringly reliable and accurate so I don’t expect that to change. What I do expect is for this one to be louder and hopefully flatter shooting at speed. We shall see.

Here are the robbed parts. The TXG grip works but it’s not very good looking. That is also the robbed fcu with gold trigger. This is the shiny TiN barrel with a custom works fcu. Notice the difference. They should have stuck with the matte TiN. One other thing they improved was getting rid of that goofy stylized XL logo. On the Spectre Comp it just tastefully says 365. Good choice. Now lose the gold.

I think your adaptation looks really nice! Would be proud to own it. May I say, "The cat's meow"

Tangential question about the Incog holster you've got there. Is that just one sized for a 365 XL? How do you like the holster? ---------------------------- Chuck Norris put the laughter in "manslaughter" Educating the youth of America, one declension at a time.

I believe it’s called the Stealth because it has the “fluff” inside and out. I have the same holster in both sizes. This one is for an XL. The XL sized Stealth will lock in both the standard size and the XL sized slide. The Standard sized holster only fits the smaller standard slide because there is a molded lip at bottom. I love these holsters. Two complaints. They are pricy and I wish the claw was slightly bigger. That’s it. Great holster. G Codes are expensive but I love every one that I have (another different model 365 and a G19 incog). To answer your question I would buy another. The same model without the inside fluff would be my next choice because I don’t need the extra “stealth”. The fluff is grabby, yet in a good way. Wasn’t sure I would like the open bottom but in actual use it is a complete non issue. I suppose if you went on a range day and shoved a very dirty pistol in your trou that you could get gunk on your pants. That’s why I have range pants though. Lol. Gunpowder, grease, hoppes, I’m not wearing good trousers to the range.

I swear I had something for this |
Did the Spectre Comp come with a manual safety, or was that from the FCU you replaced?

It does not come with a manual safety. All my 365’s have the MS so when I swapped it got one. For carry I want the MS, I know some people hate them but I don’t. Especially appendix. The non MS fcu and grip module just switched places and is now my bedside gun with a 15 round mag, Holosun, and light. You can see it in those pictures. I don’t need a MS on the bedside guns so that worked out well. I might buy the 45 dollar kit at some point and dremel out the grip for it or even try the one sided safety mod just for grins. It’s an unnecessary expense at this point though but for standardization will eventually happen. Edited: Oh yeah, how could I forget? It also came with a Sig Custom Works challenge coin. I gave that to my son who steals all that kind of stuff but if anybody asks I can take that picture as well since Imgbb finally works for me.

I think the comp slide makes the gun. The only thing I'm looking for in the 365 is a AXG module, I've developed a thing for being able to change grips at a whim. I love my P320 AXG and will buy a couple more for my others. That comp slide with a AXG module, boom it's done for me, but when?

Icarus Precision. You need one of those. Sig is selling them now but they are upcharging over the Icarus price. I agree that the comp slide is pretty great.

Ya the Icarus module is nice since it looks so different and it's well done. If I didn't have a thing for changing grips all the time I'd purchase one but for now (and that might change) the Sig AXG has me! Sig is starting to PMO about how they do things. They've been so successful with the 320/365 modular platforms they've decided to get their hands into all your pockets as fast as they can. As POed as I am it's been super building this platform without gunsmiths and I'm going no where else. So Sigs got me and many others, but it's fun. Sig is going in the right direction though with these new custom slides, this comp slide and the other Pro comp slide for the 320 are good looking slides, Oh more builds, when will it all end!

Like alot of sig builds I think you need to want all of the features. This explains my purchase of a factory 226 legion. I have a similar creature in a 365XL with PMM barrel and comp and it does what I wanted it to do. I cant help but notice that my rolandesque 19 gets the most carry time though.

I just bought a Beretta 92X Compact. Put in a LTT trigger job, new sights, G conversion. Great gun. It holds 15+1. I love that Beretta but I pick up my 365 which holds 14+1 with the MagGuts innards and it’s ridiculously smaller and lighter and my medium-ish hand feels better on it. It is a tough mental argument in my head to justify anything else. Funny thing is that even a the range I am starting to gravitate to the 365 as a range toy.

The comp works on this gun. I noticed a difference immediately, especially on fast follow ups. I don’t have a dot on this but I think it would really benefit from one. It is flatter so dot would be easier to track. Plus, I’m starting to realize I like dots. I shoot as fast but way more accurately with them. If you are on the fence, I get it. It’s too much money. It is. It’s a real nice setup though and it definitely is a noticeable difference. I sure hope you can buy these separate eventually.

Who makes the holster? ______________________________________________ Life is short. It’s shorter with the wrong gun…

G Code Stealth. I like them but they aren’t 30 dollar kydex from Amazon. You can get black hardware as well. I got red and blue to distinguish between my 365 and 365 XL holsters. And I like color. Lol
