maxwayneRuger 1911 Commander LW
I picked up a lightly used Ruger LW 9mm Commander sized yesterday. I bought a Tisas of the same style a year or so ago. I had trouble with the extractor twice and am not sure I trust it. My gunsmith told me he can't fit an aftermarket extractor as the Tisas is not the same exact dimensions as other 1911's. He was however able to modify the extractor and it has been working fine.
If the Tisas continues to work fine, looks like I have 2 9mm light weights. The Ruger was too good of a deal to pass up. If I have any repeat of the problem, the Stingray is going to the auction.

MikeinNCI EDC a LW Ruger 4.25” 1911. Mines in 45ACP tho. I got a Springfield LW CDR sized 9mm last year for a steal. It’s sooooo smooth and almost zero recoil with 115fmj

maxwayneI took it to an indoor range last week and fired about 150 rounds through it. It worked fine and seems very accurate. I am waiting to get outdoors and shoot it some more.

AUTiger89What do you think of the quality between the Ruger and the Tisas?

maxwayneI am still deciding on quality. I want to shoot them side by side. A gunsmith told me Tisas is not an exact copy and parts don't interchange.
I like the Stingray and want it to succeed. I would be very happy to keep them both.

andronicusI had one of those Ruger LW Commanders in 9mm and traded it away because I am a moron. Yes, it's limited capacity by todays "standards". But it was crazy accurate and dead nails reliable. I had plans to get a 38 Super barrel for it, but as I said, I got stupid. They are very expensive and uncommon now.
